I am going the second weekend but am so excited I started the thread for both shows. This one is usually more popular and has more surrounding festivities than the second show. Who's in?

Fighting it out with the daughters to see which weekend. I want the first they want the second because there is a country concert in LA on the 19th they want to see but I have a game on the 26th already paid for.

Decisions decisions.

There's a pool party but it isn't really the same. Expensive booze and a little to chi-chi for my tastes. It's also impossible to navigate it's so crowded.

The old street party was much better IMO.

Flying up from Houston. I've seen every Houston show since 1992, but this will be my first show outside of Houston. Really looking forward to it. It just so happened to fall on my birthday, so the 19th was an easy decision.

Anyone debating which show to go to, be prepared for hotel rates to start rising for the second weekend. Lineup for the Life is Beautiful festival was announced today and attendees from all over will start making plans. If you're still debating which show to attend, I suggest you make reservations now for 10/26 and cancel later if you decide to attend this first show (book directly through hotel sites and there's no cancellation fees).

FYI, for anyone interested in Life is Beautiful, here's the lineup....

Due to construction, there isn't anymore street party. Last year the pre-concert festivities were held at the pool at the Flamingo. I'm assuming they'll do the same this year. It was very crowded last year and drinks were pretty pricey.

I think drinks were the same price as the street party in previous years. Pricey for sure but no more than in the past. Not sure where the party will be this year but wherever it is, that's where I'll be.

I'll be there for the 19th! Yes, they still do 'last man standing'. This year it's at Tommy Rockers. Tickets available on the Las Vegas Parrothead club web site.

The street party is gone! The pool party is way toooooo small for all those people. The last two years I have been going to the pre party over at the Brooklyn Bridge in front of NYNY. The first year they had a great dj to play Buffett style music. Last year not so much but it was still a blast.

Onet thing I am hopeful of with this show is an appearance by Brian Wilson. I was fortunate enough to see him appear at Jimmy's concert several years back in Irvine and it was incredible. Brian is playing at the Palms on Friday Night (with Jeff Beck) and they don't have another show until Sunday in LA. Could it happen??? It's still a longshot but the cards are aligned right to make it a possiblity.

Dang Dean. Thanks for the info. Last year MGM Grand said they might do something in their pool area but since NYNY did their thing MGM said No. So Maybe MGM will this year. I hope so.

Groupon has a great deal for some pre-concert phestivities if anyone is interested. It's an 8 hour open bar at Carlos n Charlies for only $24.99. Carlos n Charlies is located at the Flamingo, you could sit on the outdoor deck, hear the music from the pool party and drink up all day for one low cost! I'm guessing you couldn't transport drinks back and forth from the pool.....but still a good deal nonetheless.
