I'm not much of a Rick Reilly fan, but he brings some interesting points up in this article:

P.U. Another stinker from the Giants.
But a win is still a win.

And Dez Bryant again proves why he is the biggest douchewaffle in the NFL.

Quite the clusterfack going on with Dallas today.
Also, not looking good right this second but I hope Peyton comes through for his little brother again...

LIONIZED!!
Actually around here the term Lionized is a derogatory term meaning that players, coaches, anyone associated with the Lions in anyway whatsoever has succumbed to the god awful football history that is the Detroit Lions & no matter what they do even if it appears to be good they will in the end fail. It's our version of the Curse of Bambino or the Loveable Losers!
But I'm going to go ahead & use the term for one Mr. Bryant & his fellow Cowboys today. Listen, the Cowboys are a decent team but the damn media treats them (especially Romo) like their ENTITLED to be a frickin' awesome machine or something. Face it, since Jimmy Johnson they ARE mediocre at best. So for today I take a different angle & say, Congratulations Cowboys, you've been
Lionized!

Broncos looked awful in the 1st half. MUCH better in the 2nd half.

Needed that win after the Indy loss last week. And need they bye to heal some injuries.

He's just the latest of NFL talents (T.O. comes to mind first...) who can't help speaking the truth.
Truth and Team are often concepts that don't equate

Normally I would've been cheering for the Cowboys because the Lions are in the same division as my Bears, but I'm glad the Lions won today. I am SO sick of that little punk Des Bryant.
If he lives to be 1000, MAYBE he'll grow the hell up.

It's actually a miracle! Nobody is blaming Tony Romo! Normally, he could throw for 5 TDs in the 4th quarter, and watch the defense give up 42 points in that same quarter, and somehow he gets blamed....Dez Bryant found a way to divert that attention! Way to take one for the QB, Dez.

I still don't get it when fans (specifically 49er fans) say "Alex Smith is an OK quarterback, but don't count on him to win you any games."
Over his last 32 regular season starts (the equivalent of 2 season), spanning 3 seasons, his record is 26-5-1.
During that span, his QB rating is 90.8.
He has 37 TDs to only 14 INTs.
He has also rushed for 529 yards.
If he doesn't win games...who does?
Over their last 32 regular season starts:
Aaron Rodgers is 24-8
Peyton Manning is 25-7
Tom Brady is 26-6
Drew Brees is 21-11
Matt Ryan is 21-11
Joe Flacco is 20-12
Eli Manning is 14-18
Ben Roethlisberger is 18-14
Matt Stafford is 14-18
Andy Dalton is 19-13
Philip Rivers is 15-17
I can keep going if you want.
He wins games.

Very well.
Tony Romo is the reason HealthCare.gov is not functional.
Tony Romo is the reason milk curdles.
Tony Romo is responsible for the impending zombie apocalypse.
Tony Romo is Dez Bryant's babysitter and responsible for any tantrums he may throw.
Tony Romo is the reason the LOST final episode sucked gopher balls.
Tony Romo is responsible for Miley Cyrus twerking.
Jerry Jones is responsible for all things Tony Romo.
I could go on.

You missed one. I added him for you...
And you are right about Alex Smith. I get why the 49ers let him go. I also get why Andy Reid tried on a couple of occasions to get him to Philly. There will always be a place in this league for QBs that know how to take care of the ball. Too bad so many coaches are too short sighted to give these guys a chance.

I love this part of the "QB chat"....it perfectly echoes my point about Tony Romo:
CAM NEWTON: So let me get this straight: Calvin Johnson had 329 yards, and the putrid Cowboys defense gave up 400 yards passing to a FOURTH QB this season?
COWBOYS FANS: THANKS A LOT ROMO!
TONY ROMO: YOU CAN’T BLAME ME! I DID NOT PLAY DEFENSE YESTERDAY!
DEZ BRYANT: ME NEITHER!
JASON WITTEN: ME NEITHER!
ENTIRE COWBOYS DEFENSE: US NEITHER!
