This past weekend was the Jimmy Buffett concert in Detroit. Of course, Jimmy Buffett was awesome. However, the highlight of the weekend came on Sunday night when I was honored to be in a small but nice venue with 99 other people to see Mac McAnally. It was an evening that was so incredible, and I only wish that it could have gone on forever. The money raised from this event went to the Wounded Warriors Project which is a cause near and dear to my heart as I work for the VA.
I have been wanting to see a Mac McAnally show for the past two years, and Sunday night I got my wish hands down. He put on an excellent show complete with his awesome stories that make me smile and laugh. Of course, the music was fantastic with Mac alternating between guitar and piano. However, the thing that was most impressive is how Mac presents himself. He has a genuine humbleness and a kind soul which I find very becoming.
It was an incredible evening, and I sure hope that I have the chance to do something like this again.
