Do you really think Buffett would say, "Hey Parrotheads, I really hate coming here"?
I think the fact that he has not played a concert since 2000 in Maryland speaks more then anything he has personally said in interviews. I feel he probably loves coming to every town. He does make money at every venue. He is just winding down his career. He can't play 100 dates a year anymore and even though I wish he would play in Md 2 times like he did a few years back I understand that spending quality time with your family is worth more then money.
Just my two cents.

Why just one show in the DC area? He used to do 4 and they all sold out. He also used to talk about how much he loved Merriweather.
Why does he not go back there?

Regarding Nashville....
Well Gaylord Entertainment Center/Arena is booked the night of the 13th and the last few times he has been here that's where he played. It is rumored that he will be playing at our amphitheater where he holds the attendence record at. Would love to see him back there if it is true.
At one time there was no tailgating there ,but my brother n law went to see Dave Matthews last summer and he said they started to allow it once again..so who knows !

I'm hoping when Jimmy comes back here to Las Vegas this time it will be at the Thomas & Mack Center instead of the MGM. Maybe then the ticket prices will be lower like the rest of the country. The T&M isn't bad for an indoor venue, sure there's no theme park attached, but that's OK. We don't have any outdoor venues the right size. The Silver bowl is too d*mn big. NO ARENA SHOWS!

Annon, I was at that show. It's not that the crowd was problematic, Merriweather had changed owners and they no longer wanted tailgating before or after the show. So the police were out in force, BIG TIME, and it was a little tough to have fun while you had cops looking at you as though you were a common crminal just because you were a parrottheadOn 2002-02-23 22:45, Anonymous wrote:
Wasn't his last show at Merriweather problematic? I heard it was a horrible mess with a ridiculously out of control crowd.

Totally agree about Detroit... We sell out 2 shows in less than 10 minutes whereas Chicago, where I road tripped to see him last year, can hardly sell out at the last minute, plus the venue totally s***s. And for those of you that can't see why anyone would want to stay overnight in Detroit, apparently you're too big of a jackass to realize that the concert venue's not even in Detroit and how beautiful it is in Michigan during the summer.
PS- Yes he did come in the fall, but that was indoors, hardly the same deal.

There must be a reason Jimmy doesn't play multiple shows in the same city or play that city at all (Detroit this Summer) who knows what the reason is, maybe his CD's don't sell that well there, maybe he doen't like the promoter, I know in Boston for Labor Day Jimmy generally goes to his home on Nantucket after the Labor Day shows. But really only a few people know the reason why and none are on this board!

If Jimmy is going to start the first leg of the summer tour in Cincinnati and the second leg in Pittsburgh, he should add a show to each city on the Saturday before that Tuesday. Both of these cities have huge Parrothead followings and both sell out (even 2 shows) in under 20 minutes. These cities deserve a weekend show and 2 shows! I know he normally doesn't do a Saturday then a Tuesday, but I hope he makes an exception or slighty rearranges the schedule.
