Jimmy Tuna Fishing

Post by FunkHouse9 »

In the Radio Margaritaville preshow before Bristow this past weekend, Jimmy mentioned that he was going tuna fishing this week. I guess he did fairly well. I just came across a news article about it.
It's not a shark. Or even a landshark, for that matter.

But it is one very big tuna.

And Jimmy Buffett was all smiles on Wednesday after reeling in this catch.

I saw a blurb about Jimmy's catch on CBS This Morning. It was a 350-pound tuna, and it took him an hour to reel it in. I had to laugh. I like Gail King, but she is definitely not in the loop when it comes to Buffett. After Charlie Rose mentioned Jimmy's catch she said that she could not imagine Jimmy fishing. s***, we can all tell her that JB has been fly fishing for many years. She needs to read the chapter in A Pirate Looks at 50 when he was this close to catching a marlin.

We had a big OBX group rental several years ago. The group next door to us heard us playing Meet Me in Margaritaville on the deck and asked if they could borrow it for their fishing day trip.

When they came back they gave us ten lbs of fresh tuna, which Mr. Lime promptly blackened and grilled.

Very nice bonding with total strangers over Jimmy. 8)

Sushi, yum! Tuna steak is also very tasty. On that note, I have catfish in the freezer with my name on it perfect for dinner tonight.
