Jimmy Page tends to take his time with these things (just as he did with Zeppelin) but it should be well worth the wait.

For those that may be curious as to what John Paul Jones' voice sounds like, this is a track he sang lead on from the Scream For Help soundtrack back in the 80's, a project he worked on with Page and Jon Anderson from Yes.

Not that I doubted Plant but it's good to know that the reissues are going to include previously unheard recordings.

No real surprise with the headline here though I'm sure it will infuriate those that feel Led Zeppelin owes them another reunion. On the topic of the upcoming reissue campaign (which gets underway June 2 with the release of the first three Zeppelin records), there's absolutely no mention of when the other albums will be reissued other than "The final three will be released in 2015". Lots of folks seem to believe that Coda (which is already a collection of rarities, outtakes, etc.) will also get the expanded reissue treatment but I've yet to see Page mention it.

The BBC has posted snippets of two previously unheard songs, an early version of "Whole Lotta Love" from the deluxe edition of Led Zeppelin II and "Keys To the Highway" from the deluxe edition of Led Zeppelin III. The first article says, "he (Page) has scotched rumours that there will be versions of songs featuring bass and keyboard player John Paul Jones on vocals". I was kind of looking forward to hearing those just out of curiosity.

There's not really that much "opening up" here but it's still worth a read.

One important factor that's not mentioned either in the headline or the article is that the new band was never going to be called "Led Zeppelin".
“Do you know why The Eagles said they’d reunite when hell freezes over, but they did it anyway and keep touring? It’s not because they were paid a fortune. It’s not about the money. It’s because they’re bored. I’m not bored."

Let's hope this actually becomes a reality this time as Page has been singing this same song for at least the last ten years.

I have no doubt that there's a similarity between the two songs or that Page even lifted the riff but, just like when Jake Holmes sued Page for "Dazed and Confused" a few years ago (which was evidently settled out of court) shouldn't these artists have sued Zeppelin back when these songs were first released rather than nearly 40 years later?
