If so, does anyone know where I can get a copy of it or find it?
Thanks!
Is there an "Official" Policy from Buffett on trading Concer
Moderator: SMLCHNG
I'm trying to find out because I'd love to be able to post his shows on Furthurnet. I've traded Grateful Dead Shows for years and also have a modest Buffett Collection. I get request for Buffett Trades all the time and posting them on Furthurnet would allow many people to get a hold of some shows with very little effort. Furthurnet won't allow artists posts without permission though. It also would serve as a deterant to the eBay pirates who I fear will ruin trading for all of us by turning a profit off of Jimmy... If anyone knows of a contact or any information, please post it here.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I guess I'd better let you know about buffettonline.com, or something like that. He used to do the very thing that you're proposing, but Jimmy's lawyers shut him down for awhile. Now he's only allowed to post pre-1990 shows. The lawyers felt that his site would actually help the bootleggers by making it easier for them to add to their inventory, and I have to say that I agree. Not everyone knows how to, or is willing to, download shows when they can go to an auction an buy it. But, I certainly wish you luck if you go through with it. I would, most assuredly, visit your site often!
I do remember when that site (buffettonline.com) housed many current shows. (I still have a good many of them.) I guess looking at it from the lawyers perspective I can understand the complexity of it and I can certainly respect their point of view. I wouldn't dream of pushing the envelope with them in that respect. I'll keep digging and see what I can come up with I guess. It just seems if people had some legitimate options they'd avoid buying bootlegs. Maybe Jimmy could start selling them mailorder from his new record company. I know I'd buy them if they were legimate and knew they were sourced from soundboard versus Real Audio...

Thanks for the information. I submitted an email to http://www.thebeachisopen.com right after the previous response was posted. I'm still waiting to hear back...
It's hopeful to hear that people are trading the shows and not just selling them.
Thanks!
