Boston Blackie>>>Randy Newman

Post by phjrsaunt »

Yesterday on RM, they made some connection from Boston Blackie (of Pencil Mustache fame) to an uncle of Randy Newman to Randy Newman. I couldn't quite catch it....did anyone happen to hear this?
Many thanks!
Your pal,

I don't listen to RM so I don't know what they said but I'll throw some info out there. Randy Newman had 3 uncles who were composers. All of them worked in movies and TV. There was a series of Boston Blackie movies in the 1940s and a TV show that was on for 2 seasons in the early 1950s. I don't know for sure, but one of his uncles could have done the music for either the TV show or one or more of the movies.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

I've been researching that and came up with the same info. None of them were music directors
or composers for any of the movies. Maybe something with the TV shows but I couldn't find
any connections. :pirate:
