I thought of you today, are you psyched?
using a MA word. WICKED!!!!....Florida will be tough , but we were the last team to beat them this year!!!....This really came out of no where. Could of and should of probably lost the opening round game against St Joe's....Villanova , I thought we were better then. I thought Iowa State would of beat us , but we got a break when they lost there top player, Michigan State was really a shocker. Now Florida , if Shabazz can stay hot, , and they make almost 99% of there foul shots like they have. They will win. This will be a long week!!!

I'm picking Florida, their coach is from Rockville Centre on Long Island. That's about 5 or 6 miles from where I grew up.

Congrats to your Huskies. Now go kick some Gator ass!
Proud of the effort the Wolverines made. Wouldn't have expected a season like this losing the College player of the year in Trey Burke then Mitch McGary with an injury. Essentially one possession from a trip to the final four. All of these kids in tonight's game busted their asses!

I like that because if a team you pick to go far gets beaten early, which usually happens to me, it doesn't blow up your whole bracket.
Not to mention that this way they get you to come back four more times to submit new brackets for the Round of 32, the Sweet Sixteen, the Elite Eight, and the Final Four. And who's going to go into a place like the Tilted Kilt and just drop off a bracket list and leave?
Crazy like a fox, they are.

The entire contest is conducted online so I never have to go into the restaurant unless I win something. All the prizes are food except one, a Kilt Girl calendar. I won that but I also won one in the college football contest last fall so I don't need another one. Besides, it's almost April. Why would I want a 2014 calendar when we're already 1/4 through the year?
Only 1/3 through the year, actually.
If I PM you my addy could I talk you out of the extra calendar? Closest Kilt location to me is Rockford, and that's still at least a four-hour drive (one way).

If you want it, it's yours. Send me your snail mail, I'll stop at the restaurant a day this week and get it out to you.

For those who think Florida is a shoo-in for the championship....
Can you name the 2 teams that beat Florida this season????
Answer: -Connecticut & Wisconsin
And...Kentucky lost to them by only 1 point in the SEC tourney.
Ranks:
-Scoring, 181st in D1
-Total Rebounding, 131st in D1
-Defensive rebounding, 167th in D1
-Assists, 117th in D1
-FG %, 74th in D1
-Points allowed, 3rd in D1
So they are no shoo-in. They can talk all they want about teams like Wichita State and their weak conference, but the SEC is Floria/Kentucky, and a bunch of bad basketball. Only 3 teams made the tourney, and one of them was in the play-in round.
I am predicting a Wisconsin-Connecticut final.

with Guard play so important in tournaments , this is where I lay UCONN's hope , they have the best Guard in the tournament in Napier , and probably the best backcourt duo with him and Boatright. Add in that niether miss free throws. If Deandre Danial's can keep playing the way he has they will be cutting down the nets next Monday!!!!

I haven't got a horse in this race, but I'm picking UCONN because my daughter might apply to school there next year and I heard they were affectionately (or disparagingly) referred to as the "Unicorns" and I think that is groovy.

I've got to work during the game tonight, but the powers-that-be have promised that it will be on the big-screen TVs visible from the call floor — so I will probably be 'prairie-dogging' from time to time in order to keep up with the score.
And of course, providing I can still cram myself into it, I'll be wearing my
"GO BIG RED!" sweatshirt.

All I know is I want the winner of the game to have the number 7 as the last digit & the loser of the game to have the number 9 as the last digit.
If so........

I forgot to let you know, I went to the post office Thursday. You should probably get the Tilted Kilt calendar either today or Monday.

I'm sitting on 81 points right now. Wouldn't mind getting to 130 to get a Big Arse burger but I doubt I'm going to get near that. I now have two Kilt Girl calendars, I'm sure I'll find someone who wants one.

I have 78 points. If I get one more game right I get the pub pretzel. The only way I can get the big arse burger is if I get all 3 games right, 16 points for each of today's games and 32 for the championship game. What didn't help me was I don't follow college basketball, when the tournament started the last game I had watched even close to all the way through was last year's championship game. I've been picking Florida because their coach is from Long Island. He's younger than I am and I don't know him but he grew up about 5 or 6 miles from where I grew up. I also tend to pick a lot of Big East teams, even though the Big East isn't what it used to be, because I went to grad school at St. John's.

Still partying like it's 1999!!....never expected this, but as the tournament progressed , and as I stated above , guard play, Free throws, and Danial's having a big game , UCONN would win. Bring on Kentucky and that cheating bastard Calapari. I wanted the Honey Badgers so I could make a wager with Jim( CaptainP).
