Me, too. I know it will be nearly impossible to get tickets, but I'll take small, quirky venues anyday over stadium shows.

It's being broadcast to participating drive ins across the country. Not many of them left anymore though.

But it sounds fun. Hope some BNers are able to get tickets and let us know how it goes.

Very cool of him to do, I'd love to see him go off the grid with his setlist at this show as well since it's such a special performance.

I grew up a half-mile from this place. On summer nights you could hear the movies in our back yard. I might have cruised past that ticket booth while riding in the trunk a time or two. :D
All that's left now is the concession stand.

We've got a 3 screen drive in here in town. Would be SHOCKED though if they would be part of the "simulcast". Just not a large enough population.
The idea of a Drive In theatre being over run with Parrotheads is amusing to say the least.

It doesn't seem to be a Live Nation or Ticket Bastard event, so that could be a plus.

I'm not sure how old these photos are but the Waco Drive-in Theatre in Goldsboro, NC is where I saw such classics as Rock n' Roll High School, Eat My Dust, Up the Academy and Cheech and Chong's Second Movie. According to Drive-Ins.com there's 6 drive-in theatres left in NC with the closest one to me being in Henderson. The Starlite in Durham reopened in 2005 but closed down shortly thereafter.

We love the intimate shows also. Is this related to Margaritaville TV Bing and Bong have referred to?

According to the article that's linked to above, this is independent of Margaritaville, Inc.
Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band will perform an intimate show at Coyote Drive-In as the inaugural musician in the “Live at the Drive-In” series, an idea conceived and produced by Coyote Drive-In owner-operators Brady Wood and Brandt Wood via their company, Woodhouse, in conjunction with Austin-based juggernaut C3 Presents.
This is what Buffett had to say about Margaritaville TV when he was interviewed by the Honolulu Pulse last year:
NEXT BIG PROJECT A “Margaritaville” Internet TV channel that will allow thousands of his fans to watch his shows in real time on their computers. He already has a “Radio Margaritaville” following. Though he’ll turn 67 on Christmas Day, he said he’s a techie and loves social media.

Buffett hopes to go online in May; there will not only be concert broadcasts but “reality TV” stories of his and adventures. Check margaritaville.com.

Hmmmm, 2 days before the Frisco show and I haven't bought my plane ticket yet. But it would mean more time in a hotel. And more laundry when I get home.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here
