Margaritaville TV - Austin Rehearsal Footage!
I don't see this posted anywhere, but I'm so excited, I might have missed it.
Jimmy posted Rehearsal Footage from Austin on Youtube today. The 'trick' is, you need to advance to the 52:30 mark - this link does that for you.

Mods, if this is old news, please delete with my apologies, thanx!

Is the other guitar player Peter's son? I've never seen him so I don't know what he looks like.

I'd assume it is...they sound exactly the same...I also quite enjoyed the song after that one, Welcome Home...that could have replaced a couple of songs on the last album IMO.LIPH wrote:Is the other guitar player Peter's son? I've never seen him so I don't know what he looks like.

Yes, that is Brendan Mayer.
Re: Margaritaville TV - Austin Rehearsal Footage!
Seems that the video is no longer available for public viewing

Aw Crackers! Apparently, it wasn't supposed to be public. I had a feeling they might realize that it wasn't made private and that it might get yanked once I posted it here...but what can you do?lime rickie wrote:That was not happening until about an hour ago.Cane Garden Bay wrote:Hi Marty, I clicked on the li k but it says 'this video is private' how to I view the rehearsal video? C'mon "Jimmy's folks", lighten up - that was a fun video - the imperfections helped make it fun and it was great seeing the band so casual and honing their craft.
Since it's probably gone for good, here's a setlist of sorts: (I'll post it in the setlist forum as well)

This One's For You Tour Rehearsal/Test for Margaritaville TV
Friday, May 16, 2014
No video on the first two songs - just the empty Bing & Bong Show set on camera. Video & audio together begins with "Only Time Will Tell" at about the 52:39 mark.
01 Summertme Blues
02 Coast of Carolina
03 Only Time Will Tell
04 My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink and I Don't Love Jesus (Mac with the great harmony)
05 Soulfully (Jimmy without a guitar "Where do I put my hands?")
06 Bama Breeze (awesome solos, Petey)
07 The very first video Bing & Bong show (a silent movie at first, then joined by sound, Jerry Jeff Walker and his dog.)
08 Southern Cross (full band - song started in the middle)
09 Getaway Car - Brendan Mayer on vocals with the CRB (Mac on keyboards and Jimmy playing percussion with Eric)
10 Captain Jim's Drunken Dream (James Taylor cover) (Jimmy and full the band)
11 Woman Gone Crazy on Caroline Street
12 Scarlet Begonias
13 Free/Into the Mystic (ZBB version cover, Mac & Peter helping on vocals)
14 He Went to Paris (full band)
Also noteworthy:
-Brendan joined his dad for several songs, doing a dueling guitar thing on Scouthern Cross and Scarlet Begonias.
-Nadirah has hair again - but I think she swiped it from Peter, as his was the shortest I'd ever seen.
Sorry folks - hope some of you got to see it, it was really kewl.
First Edit - to add the 2 audio-only songs that I missed and Captain Jim's Drunken Dream as the correct title on #10 (thanx nvrmnd17 !!)
Second Edit - to add Brendan Mayer's song title on #09 (Thanx Dave)

The "welcome home" songs was Captain Jim's Drunken Dream by James Taylor.
Before the 52 minute mark you could hear the audio even though the screen only showed the Bing & Bong set. Songs played included:
Summertme Blues
Coast of Carolina
Only Time Wll Tell
Scarlet Begonias
Summertime Blues

Scarlet Begonias
I didn't notice Greenidge or Lovell in this rehearsal. Hopefully they just had the day off.

Re: Margaritaville TV - Austin Rehearsal Footage!
As you can imagine Summertime Blues featured some buffettized lyrics. I'm guessing show opener.

Re: Margaritaville TV - Austin Rehearsal Footage!
I did see Lovell, but only briefly, playing a percussion instrument on one song. Other than that, the camera pretty much stayed away from anything to the stage-right of Utley.nvrmnd17 wrote:The "welcome home" songs was Captain Jim's Drunken Dream by James Taylor.

Thanx nvrmnd17 for the JT song title and two audio-only songs that I missed!

Cool but no spoiler alert?!

Re: Margaritaville TV - Austin Rehearsal Footage!
Looking at the setlist from the rehearsal, we can look forward to at least 3 more cover tunes:
Summertme Blues;
Captain Jim's Drunken Dream;
Free/Into the Mystic.
Plus, he's bringing Scarlet Begonias back and they're rehearsing one of Peter's son's songs. Will this be the first tour where Buffett songs make up less than 1/2 the setlist? It's getting ridiculous.
