A woman in Kansas City got tired of mowing her lawn, so she trucked in 80 tons of sand and turned her yard into a beach. Now she just needs to put up a projector and show the Buffett concerts on Margaritaville TV.
Adirondack chairs, volleyball net.....I like her style.

I like the concept.
I thought about doing something similar to this in part of the backyard, as an addition to Intemperance Island.
But a lot of the area around here is still wooded and we get lots of critters roaming thru (including a few feral cats).
I suspect the pristine beach would have turned into Mother Nature's latrine in short order.
They do know that most surf and popular beaches are cleaned EVERY day, don't they?
I hope they never get wind or have near by trees, or as alpha said, nearby critters.
I really like the idea, but I bet they regret it!!!
Reminds me of a show we did in a pub the night before it was gutted for a rebuild, they trucked in 50 odd tons of sand and we had a beach party. What a mess. We were still getting sand out of the P.A. years later.
(I bet the builders weren't impressed)
Always be yourself

Trading the mower for a sprayer full of Roundup....
There's a guy in my neighborhood who got sick of his lawn so he paved the whole thing with pavers.
Kinda looks like a business when you drive by. Cool thing is he can park anywhere in his yard.
