What a night! The Mistress of Agave and I are in Springfield, Mo to take care of my Dad who just had heart surgery. We are lounging by the pool at the local Elks club and run into old friends who have a band. Of course the subject of JB comes up and we tell them about our RV tour that begins with Bethel Woods. They get excited and want to join us but wow, they have jobs...hmmm what are those? But they also say their is a PH club meeting and invite us to it. We have a blast then Sunny Jim takes the stage and is freaking amazing! He plays two long sets and mostly his original stuff. For those of you that dont know him, look at page 144 of "A Pirate Looks at 50". His wife, Adela is there and we get to talking to her. She is as nice as can be and Sunny Jim's songs are so entertaining. After the show, we get invited to the home of where they are staying. We end up in the basement of this beautiful home in a jam session!!! There are just 4 couples and we play and sing till damn near 2am. What a blast! Sunny Jim and Adela are so friendly and he is very talented. They will be at MOTM on the main stage and will also be at the 6 string festival in New Orleans in August. I cant wait to see them again and highly recommend Sunny Jim if you have never seen him perform. Thanks to Bud, the PH president whose home we were at, his lovely wife and our two friend Sharon and Merrit Baker who pwrform as The Blond Stranger. One more thing, today while coming back from the hospital after visiting Dad, guess who comes on Radio Margaritaville...yep James "Sunny Jim" White.
