College Football 2014...

Post by Dr.Corona »

While a couple games hit the turf this weekend (the red turf of Eastern Washington will be on display) it's basically one week out before the big boys start up. Awesome!

Myself & a buddy try to get out & do a roadtrip annually to catch the sights & sounds of other college football towns away from the friendly confines of Michigan country. We've had a great time & enjoyed excellent hospitality on many of our roadies since our initial trip to Volunteer land in 2001. Of course with the popularity of College ball, tickets become tougher to come by in many of the hotbeds around the country. While we're not opposed to "paying" the price....it's always nice to make some sort of trustworthy connection for tickets ahead of time. I've only traveled twice without already having tickets in hand.

I'm appealing to any BN'ers who may have any connections to any of the following Universities that are under consideration for this years' roadtrip.

In no particular order.....South Carolina, Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Louisville, Florida St., Miami Fla, or Oklahoma St., UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, & USC.
Not that we're considering ALL of these places but some on this list are the visiting teams of places under consideration.

Send me a PM if the possibility exists that you may be able to help out or have any insight on gameday ticket availability. Of course I'm not expecting any miracles for high profile games, just thought I'd take the first step & then I can respond with the specific game(s) under consideration.

Appreciate the help!

You are welcome to come to Aggieland anytime. The new stadium will be done in 2015 so you may want to wait until October ish for a game. That way, the weather will be a little cooler.

When I say cooler, in the 80s not the 100s at kickoff. Lol

Can you tell me what the deal is with Section 29 in the lower level corner of end zone? Seem to be fairly cheap on the resale market? Are you next to the band or something? Is the construction having an effect on that area?

Taking a hard look at the Oct. 11 game vs. Ole Miss or the Nov. 15 game vs. Mizzou.

thanks!

And I see the myth continues about how much tougher of a schedule the SEC teams all play.
Alabama, in particular, gets this treatment every year...

A look at their schedule shows that they play 3 teams ranked in the pre-season top 25...and those are ranked #21, #13, and #6.
That's right, their first top 10 opponent isn't until after Thanksgiving. But they do have such juggernaut programs on their schedule as Florida Atlantic, Western Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee. Yet all you will hear from the national SEC media is that Alabama has to face such a tough road because they are in the SEC.

I was just flipping through the channels and I see I get the SEC Network on my cable system. And South Carolina is getting an a$$ whooping. I'm sure Janice is happy.

Cocks couldn't stand up to the challenge. The D shrank when exposed.

Can not believe that the Badgers blew the 24-7 lead last night!!!
It took LSU until the 4th quarter to figure out that the injuries the Badgers suffered along the D-Line were enough to make gaping holes. Once they figured it out, they took advantage.

That being said, I hope Konrad Zagzebski will be OK. First quarter of first career start, the senior was carted off on a stretcher with a severe neck injury.

Rough day for the big 10 today. MSU loses, Ohio State is losing, and Michigan is getting
thumped by Notre Dame. :pirate:
