I was just curious...Its a pretty fun time. I have gone the last 2 years and have already booked a room for this year. The last 2 years it has only been myself and 1 friend. At least this year, there should be 5 of us going down.

It seems that most of the people go in their own little "groups" and keep to themselves. And being a "little" younger, most of the people are older and don't seem AS friendly as you would think....

oh I know age doesnt matter, I am the same way. But seems like a lot of people take issue with it and shun others...Its kind of funny because in Chicago there is the Chicago Parrothead club. Then a girl started another group called "finz up Chicago" because she hated the snotty attitude of the people in the Chicago parrothead club (which is one of the reasons I havent joined). They are friendly, but once you dont sign up or show up to a particular event or meeting, they treat you like an outcast...

I'm going to be forty (but feel like 27) and I swear I'd rather hang out with the 20 somethings.

I have story to tell you about how my freinds turned an otherwise dull party at the Virginia show and got ostracized the next day. I'll give the details on Sat. at the Courtyard.

Anyway a real parrothead doesn't judge people. Alot of them out there claim to be heads but in fact they really don't know what it's all about.

Hang with us and we'll have a great party.

Looks like my buddy from Halifax is 95% confirmed to join us.

Age, like size, is a matter of opinion.
Some of us old 'heads probably flock together cause we are so hard of hearing after 25 years of rock 'n roll concerts.
I never met a stranger at a concert myself, though. Tried to leave with a few, but...

I look forward to meet you guys...Ive met my share of nice people at concerts, and I have also met my share of a**holes.. For some reason, it NEVER seems to fail (I hope you aren't one of these people) that someone will get to the show an hour early and go to the lawn and put out their blanket. Then the show starts and its packed and they have a blanket the size of california for 2 people, and think they own all the space, and if you step on it, you better watch out...

I say the same thing everytime "sing the song, and you can have your space". they never know the words!!!

Just my 2 cents!!!

Well, as a member of the Gentility this Social Season-with 9th row reserved seats, I'll try to sympathize with you lawn people.

Sat nosebleed behind the stage once with two prepubescent frat boys in front who tried to talk through Son of a Son. I convinced them politely to move. or die. there and then.
they moved.

Chicago,

I have been to alot of concerts in my life and I have aslo meet my share of idiots.

1977 Pink Floyd at Olympic Staduim In Montreal. It was general admission on the floor. So about a 5,000 people sleep out the night before and when the doors open the next day everybody runs in to get a place on the floor (no seats). So this guy and his friend get their before my firends and decides to park his butt about 30 feet dead centre from the stage and barrrier. Guess where we parked 28 feet dead centre. He say's we where here first. I said yes your right. He says you can't sit there. I said why? He says because I was here first. I said are you going to stop the other 5, 000 people who are going to sit in front of you?
He actually expected everyone to sit behind him and his buddies.

My buddies and I like to have fun and a great time. No worries. I am sitting in a VIP box with my freind who works for Clear Channel.

Don't worry we'll all have agreat time.

well I dont know what is worse, being on the lawn with people taking up all the lawn with their blankets, or being in the seats with people talking the whole time..They happened to us last year. We are in the pavillion, like 10th row center stage, and the girl next to me tried talking to me the whole concert. It was ANNOYING...I like going to the show to see and hear the show. And the girl was there to hear SYKBH, and I am there to hear every song BUT those....Well I still like some of the SYKBH, but he could do without cheeseburger LOL...

well, I guess it would depend on WHAT the girl looked like, WHAT she was wearing, and exactly WHAT she wanted to talk about!

What to do in Nashville Sun? (well, the gorgeous brunette I'm going with LIVES there-I WAS hoping to skip Sunday entirely, if you know what I mean

Try Music Row or Shopryland (mall)
or nurse THE hangover of the year at your hotel pool.

I imagine many people will spend a good amount of Sunday Searching for the ultimate hangover cure. I've already purchase my 8 pack of Gatorade for re-hydration.

My group is in the uppers 20's and early 30's. Our perpective is that if we don't meet tons of people of all ages and make several new friends, we probably had a flat tire and didn't make it to the venue. We're generally a very outgoing group that tends to get larger as the day and evening roll on.

The big blanket lawn seat issue? Generally, we bring a tarp. (Usually so our butts and heads don't get wet from the rain.) Then we proceed to see how many people we can get on that tarp withouth spilling beer.

I've never sat in regular seats for a JB show. I'm usually singing and dancing on the lawn. That's where I'll be this year unless I'm lucky enough to get an upgrade or something.

Chgo- Have you made any headway on the BWMCI to Courtyard to AmSouth and back issue?

Look for me, I will be driving a Red Savana Conversion van, dont think it would be any problem to taxi some to the show. Will meet up with those at the Courtyard.

I cannot wait.......

Not to worry folks. It's all good and it will be a great time.

Sunday...best way to nurse a hangover is to drink more beer. The first on eis hard but the second and third will go down easy...

I leave on Mon. so I plan to extend the party a little...

Can't think of anything better. 80 degrees and opening night of the spring/summer tour.

The beer will flow easily...
