LOL, sounds like a great time!

No, I have not found a room yet. But, I'm going to start looking tonight, after work. I just found out that I am going to be getting concert tickets from a nice person on this board that had extra. Gee, you folks are so nice.

Well good luck Michelle.

There are some rooms outside of Gnashville as far out as Murfreesboro ('bout 30 miles)
Im going there Monday for a conference-and to sniff around the area some too.
Unfortunately there is a Nascar something or other race in Nashville same weekend.
I "may" have a spare room myself-wont know till next week.

Just remember, a Saturday Jimmy Buffett concert is more of a marathon than a sprint. Don't be like the guy at my first concert who puked and passed out in the lawn BEFORE the show and didn't wake up until someone tripped over him while leaving.

Think of it as the search for the eternal buzz.

LMAO!! The guy passed out before the concert, that's a freakin hoot! I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed about the rooms, maybe someone had to cancel.

Yep...He was out cold before the show. His friends checked to make sure he was alive every once in a while. Imagine that $35 dollars to sleep on the grass and miss the entire show. The only reminders of the show is the hangover and grass stains. He did have a cool Dr's coat with a Parrothead scene airbrushed on the back. I've had at least one JB virgin each time and I've warned each of them that

1. Though we are the people our parent's warned us about, we don't necessarily want to be the people that other people's parents warned them about.
2. Alcohol is much better going down than coming up.
3. Pace yourself, there's a good chance it will be a long day/night.

Michell-I'll know this weekend if I'll need to cancel my second room. 2 of the people may end up staying at some friends house. I'll let you know.

Cool, L&P I've waited this long no need to be in a rush now. I would appreciate it very much.

I will heed your advice and proceed with caution toward the margaritas. I can't decide if that's going to be my drink of choice for the night or not. But, I got a few days to think about it.

Thanks,
Michelle

omg..now i am SOOOO confused about where to pre-party and how to get back from the concert. I do know we are staying in town...wish we were not now...but that plan has been made. I (we) will make every attempt to get to the courtyard cafe...and i just wont worry about anything from there. If any of you see three women in hawaiin shirts wandering aimlessly around Nashville take us under your "wing" or fin!!!! I am a veteren parrothead so i promise not to pass out before the music starts! I know all about pacing. LOL. Famous last words.

Chgo- So your telling all of us that you probably won't post party when all your new Phriends because of a measly little 8 hour drive? <lol> I'm bringing lots of Aspirin and Gatorade, I'll tell you that.

After the show head to Tootsies or Legends on Broadway. The last time Jimmy was in town Legends was packed full of parrotheads. Of course the concert was across the street though!

Well we got a room at the Quality Inn/Super 8 on our first try, it's supposed to be about 6 miles from Amsouth and 10 miles from Courtyard. We may try to find something closer, we will see.

Michelle

Your welcome citcat! I'm glad everyone is looking forward to the party. We've gotten a great response about it and are expecting it to be a large phlocking. The Smoky Mountain PHC is ready to party! See ya at the Courtyard! I'll be the one drinking the $1.75 margaritas!

No..NO! I'LL be the one drinking the $1.75 margaritas. I truly think the challenge here is 1.To stay sober enough to enjoy the show fully and 2.To find bathrooms. I emailed somebody in your SMPH club last August and asked them if they had a "station" to sell stuff on the main drag in Knoxville on a game day. I sure would love to see your flag flying and your mostly orange Hawaiian shirts whilst walking toward that mostly orange stadium!!!!!! I'll also be the one with the blue and green tropical shirt with the Margaritaville/cheeseburger/parrot beads, blonde hair, with three NUTS!!!!! First one to come up to me and say "Are you Citcat?" at Courtyard Cafe, I'll buy them a drink!!!!!
