What does everyone think about Jimmy doing an album tour? He picks an album per stop or for the whole tour and does the entire album in order. He would do other songs to fill out the set but would do the entire Album, for example A1A, from the first track to the last.

In 2011 Jimmy played a large number of songs from his catalog including all of the album Volcano, and nearly all of the albums A1A and White Sport Coat.

How many of *US* would not be Parrotheads if it weren't for the "Songs You Know By Heart"?  I know I probably wouldn't be.  It was that album (and the ubiquitous "Margaritaville" song) that first attracted me to Jimmy's music.  I then looked up a few of his earlier albums including "A1A" and "White Sport Coat", and was hooked.
So how did it happen for you?

Exactly!! I actually got hooked on Changes in Attitudes, Changes in Latitudes but the Yellow Album is great. People diss it BUT.... There was a show in Irvine a few years ago. I listened online and was posting in the setlist that night. The audience was WILD. Online was WILD. Everyone LOVED the show. But if you went back and looked.... they played EVERY SINGLE SONG on the Yellow Album. Every one. People diss that album but I love it. The songs are classic Buffett.

Anyway, I don't believe I "dissed" the yellow album in my post.
I too liked "Cheeseburger In Paradise the first 53,294 times I heard it. I just simply stated he preforms the majority of those songs on every tour.
And by doing so he's not able to do some of his rarer ones off of the "Hot Water", "Floridays", "Beach House On the Moon," "Havana Daydreamin'", etc. albums.
BUT, if that's what the people want...........................

I wasn't really saying that you had (dissed the yellow album, that is).  But we all know some people who feel that you cannot be a for-real true Parrothead unless you either show disdain for that album or for the people whose only exposure to Buffett are the songs from that album.  That's what I was making reference to.

Right. I cannot ever imagine a concert where he DOESN'T do "A Pirate Looks At 40" and a couple others.
I think my favorite song on there is "He Went To Paris."

I think it was in 2011 (?) in Tampa, first concert of the year, several of us were there and he did all but one song off of the Volcano album. That was probably one of the better concerts I'd been to. (Not that there IS such a thing as a BAD Jimmy Buffett concert). And yes, although you can pretty much guess what songs you'll hear at any given concert, I'm not one of the ones who claims he "phones it in." I can understand how people listening on Radio Margaritaville or Sirius Radio or whatever would think that, but anyone who is actually AT the concert knows and sees the enthusiasm Jimmy and the band feels and the effort they put into making it fun for the folks there.
Yeah, sometimes I complain about hearing the same songs time after time, but I still go, these days mostly to hang out with some of the gang I never get to see except at the concerts.
And the concerts themselves are great too. I shake my head whenever I hear anyone say they DIDN'T have a good time, either listening to the show or at the tailgate. Or both.

Of course he didnt, you wouldn't expect him to not sing 5 pm somewhere for the second time that night in replace of it would you!

If you look at the Hershey Park set list you will notice that it was the shortest show of the entire tour with only 21 songs verses the usual 26-27 songs. So Pirate was not the only song dropped, it was however the most noticed drop from that show, and yes doing 5 O'clock twice was silly"

How quickly we forget. Yes, I was at that show, and yes he DID skip Pirate Looks At 40, which I mentioned to a couple people after the show, and yes, of course he had to do Five Oclock Somewhere just after we heard Alan Jackson do it.
But whatever. As I said, whatever songs he does or doesn't do, if I'm able to be, I'm there.
