Last year I stayed at the Hampton Inn on Vista Parkway. It was about 6 or 7 miles from the airport and less than 5 miles from the venue.

DECENT TAILGATING AT THE VENUE. GATES OPEN JUST BEFORE NOON AND ITS ALL PARK BY THE NUMBERS. SO IF YOU HAVE A GROUP, BE IN LINE TOGETHER.
GOOD PEOPLE AND LOTS OF FUN EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN THERE.
SOME OF THE LOCAL PH'ERS MEET OFFSITE DOWN THE ROAD PRIOR TO LINING UP FOR THE PARKING - CHECK WITH THEM OR THE BIG BOARD.
PORTA-POTTIES ARE ALWAYS AN ISSUE - CARRY YOUR OWN PAPER!!! LOL!!!

Last year there was a long wait to get into the parking lot. Traffic was really backed up on that one road to get in. We were in by 12:30 and the tailgating was just OK early on. A lot of sitting around waiting for the lot to fill-in. It took a while for the tailgating madness to get going but between 4-5pm things picked up.
