What time do the lots open? How is the parking situation?
What is the alcohol policy? Do the cops hassle you?

I usually attend Pitt, which is always a headache because they don't open the lots until 1-2pm. Stopped going to Camden due to cops constantly hassling people about drinking and putting up canopies.

Really just looking for a venue that has early lot openings and don't bother you about tailgating once your inside.
Lots open by 10 or 11a
Plenty of parking overseen by clueless teen attendants
Alcohol in plain cups/containers is generally overlooked; this can be negated by azzhat behavior
Police are friendly; this can be negated by azzhat behavior

Great tailgate, tons of sights to see, always, without fail, an amazing time.

And I'm a newb, wait until the oldsters come along and school me.

You'll want to be at the parking lot in front of Shaws, Cork's, Home Depot by 10 or so to join the caravan going in where it will be determined whether you are a "live" or a "dead" car :D Then you can be present in the lot for our opening shot of either tequila or vanilla rum when the festivities start.

Thanks. We would definitely be in the live category. Our tailgate has a six year streak going of making it on the jumbotron for CILCIA or Margaritaville.tv!

How close to Harrisburg, PA are you? PA Parrot & I are in Lancaster Co. We've been to GW 4 years -- this is our first time to miss out (PA Parrot having knee replacement surgery on Aug 11)

I am pretty sure the law in Mansfield changed and cups are no longer required for beer. Last year many, many people were walking around with cans and bottles and the police didn't say anything. One of the GW parking employees said they changed the policy to match what is allowed at Gillette Stadium which is cans and bottles are OK but kegs are banned. So either the law changed or how the law was being enforced last year was different but either way the police didn't care at last year's tailgate what vessel your beverage was in.

It has been suggested that we should be separated,Dave.Apparently, there was a bottle neck in our lane due to the lines for paint and the lines for food.
