There needs to be a "Missed Connections" section on this site. lol Met a great lady (Anne/Annie) in the lawn that was my dancing partner all evening. She hit the bathrooms before the encores, her friends hit the exits without her and that was the last I saw of her. Fingers crossed she's a BN poster or lurker. Definitely a hardcore fan, as very few people can sing Tampico Trauma with me. haha

With that being said, fantastic weekend. The RR pool party Friday night was top-notch with great music. And GW shows why it still is the Premiere Tailgating venue for Buffett in the country.

Look forward to next summer already!

As I told you Saturday, thank you for cooking Dave, we all appreciate it.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

I'll add the huge thanks to Barb, Nancy and Dave!!! Great food and people keeping an eye on us with never-ending delivery service!

Also thanks to Tig, Carol, Ravi and everyone else that lent a hand in the setup, breakdown and general cleanup at the end. The sites were spotless, no bottles or bags full of trash lying around to run over on the way out.

And not to be forgotten were all of the folks that helped get us setup with the Eastern Mass Parrot Head Club so we could join them for the escort and in also for the work in getting us all lined up and together and blocking traffic when needed so we didn't get separated.

Is it too early to start the "Who's Going to Great Woods 2016" page???
I made enough money to buy Miami but I pi$$ed it away so fast

I was just thinking the same thing!!!
Met 3 great couples at the seats but only get the email for one of them.
Also met some great folks in the RV lot, some of whom I would like to spend more time with.

Always a great crowd at Buffett and NEVER enough time in the lot.
Can't wait till next year!!!

Sitting at the airport waiting to board reflecting on a most awesome long weekend!!
1st and foremost, HUGE THANKS to Dave, Barb, & Nancy for the cooking a delivery service!!! Once again Dave the food was top notch! I know your back was bothering you...hope I didn't block too much of the show for you & Barb standing the whole time
Pool party & the cape were also amazing!
LOVE hanging out with you guys!! You always make me feel welcome & right at home so I will come back as long as you will have me!!
Also BIG thanks to Sara & Mary (friends of Tam)!
Sara let me stay last night after some other plans fell through. Mary took me on a tour of Boston where I saw more in a few hours than on my last 3 day trip. Those girls are wonderful!
Until next year...

Did the Star Lake/Great Woods roadtrip with 3 buddies and it was epic. Pittsburgh is always fun but Great Woods is just the best for tailgating. No hassles and everybody is so friendly and have made some great friends over the last 4 years. We rustled up an autographed picture of Andy Devine that we displayed and it was a lot of fun as realization struck people walking past. We got lucky and got to the car just as the heavens opened after the show.

That being said I can't believe how bad Huey Lewis was. Seriously. That was painful, he just can't sing anymore. Wow. And as much as I've come to love Great Woods for the people and the vibe, the venue is in dire need of some updating. The sound system is pretty bad, at least out on the lawn. For such a small lawn you'd think you could hear better. And they were already out of water at the concessions at the top of the lawn before Jimmy even came on. It's just an old venue that really needs to be reconfigured. Was the lawn always that small or did they add some of those seats later?
Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely coming back but hey, I can always wish it were a bit better as well. :D
It was too much tequila . . . . or not quite enough.

An autographed picture of Andy Devine?!! Great minds think alike. We've been displaying Andy and "Sky's niece Penny" on our tiki bar in
the parking lots for years now. People always get a kick out of it. :pirate:

They added the open air pavilion seats to the lawn about 10-12 years ago. The lawn used to be much, bigger. And the venue itself inside is a dump. Performers have complained about the backstage accommodations being pretty bad as well. They need to do a major renovation. What keeps them going is the parking lot tailgating is the best in the nation.

The Personal Portapotty Blues...
Did anybody leave up or put back up their personal portapotty after we were instructed to take it down? If so, what was the fine? I was in the VIP lot and people near us left theirs up, I never saw the police warning anybody again after the first time. Sorry if this is a repeat question but I didn't read the rest of the posts.
