I woke up and it was 40 degrees out, why can't it be summer?!?! Bring on show season already!

Can someone give me a rundown of the tailgate scene and parking situation? I've heard rumors that it's not great here. I want to bring a small group to the show and show them a great time, but I'm worried that it's a sub par experience.

I'd like to:
Show up early afternoon
Have a beach and a small pool
Grill
Have plenty of boat drinks

Is this doable at "The Lube"?

I think it should be fine. They don't allow pop-up tents, which some people really seem to care about. Personally, I don't mind. Umbrellas are acceptable. As for the experience? I've been to Bristow, Merriweather and Pittsburgh. I perceive that perhaps other locations have a better tailgate experience, but I can't really say for sure. The tailgate ban year took the wind out of everyone's sails, although things have started to pick back up. I always have a really good time. I trust your friends will too. The venue itself is a great place for shows. Traffic can be an issue. Show up very early. Buffett isn't close to selling out this year, but at this venue, it is never safe to assume that planning on showing up one hour before showtime is actually going to get you there on time. Sometimes things go smoothly. Sometimes those last 2 miles after exiting the highway are a parking lot for no apparent reason. The ability to show up early and tailgate minimizes that issue if you take advantage of it.

Well said Funky. Tailgating will never be what it was back in the stripper pole days but I think it has gotten a little better each year
after the ban.
