I think last year they were around 3-3:30? In the old days there used to be a VIP lot that opened at Noon that you'd pay $20 for but those days are long gone. As others have mentioned, no canopies at all but things HAVE eased up a little bit compared to the ban/petitions/media attention year. I always make it a point to walk to the Bus/RV lot as that is normally a place of action not only at JLL but most other Buffett stops as well.

So considering going in August to see Toby Keith at either The Lube here in Bristow or Blossom in Cleveland.
Anyone here been to both venues & if so can you do a bit of "personal preference" comparison for me? If your only experience is just one or the other would still be happy to get the Pro's & Con's of your attended venue.

Been to Manassas around 10 times now, been to Blossom 3 or 4.

Blossom is slightly smaller and a little easier to get in and out of. If you like to sit really close, Blossom's stage is not that far up off the ground. Almost makes you feel like performer is level with you. The Lube is more of a "Mega-venue"

Tailgating-wise, Manassas used to be really laid-back and great then became super strict and almost non-existent in 2011 before the public outcry made them relax their rules slightly in 2012. I had heard horror stories about Blossom tailgating before my first trip there in 2011, things like cops hiding in tree stands surrounding the lots(lots are spread out and rural at Blossom, grass parking, woods surrounding lots, etc.) and being very strict however I personally didn't experience any issues then nor when I went back for Buffett last year. Lots open around same time in both places(3-4).

Thanks for the input WVP! Not too worried about the tailgating scene with it being a Toby Keith show rather than Buffett, although being able to drink a beer or 2 in the lot before the show without being hassled would be nice.
