Ernie Banks, Mr. Cub, has passed away at age 84.

Sail on, Mr. Cub. Thanks for making my trips to Wrigley Field as a youth the thrill of a lifetime.. :-(

Sail on, Mr. Cub.
And once you get where you're going, you'll find that it's a beautiful day for a ballgame and they're already scheduled to play two.

When Buffett played Wrigley Field, they showed a short video before the concert started of Ernie Banks welcoming "all you parrotheads" to Wrigley Field.

I remember meeting him at my very first Cubs game, and was fortunate to meet him several other times. I adored him and loved his passion for our Cubbies. We have truly lost a great one, and there will never be anyone like him.

I was watching Around The Horn on ESPN today. One of the guys on the show said that since Ernie Banks was famous for saying "let's play 2," there should be one day this season when every team in the major leagues plays a double header. I think that's a great idea.

While that would be awesome, You know it won't happen bc the owners won't want to lose the revenue of two game for the price of one.
