I did not mean to come across as negative. If I win I will go and enjoy the show no matter what songs JB plays. He could play all covers and the yellow album and I would be thrilled to be there. Would I like a better set list? Yep, but I'll be happy with whatever JB decides to play.drunkpirate66 wrote:The negativity around never fails to amaze me. I wasn't specifically talking about you because your baseline is inherently negative so for me to consider you being negative, by normal societal standards, you would have to be like Eeyore on a bad day. Here is a helpful meme (just change "adventures" and "shenanigans" to "tailgating" and "Jimmy Buffett shows"): http://lancashiremind.org.uk/wp-content ... eeyore.jpg That is how I feel about you. Yes Larry. Even the "love" part.LIPH wrote:I don't think I'm being negative, it's more that I'm kind of puzzled. If you have a chance to choose what songs you're going to hear, why would you choose the same old stuff that gets played every night? For example, I've seen Bruce Springsteen in concert maybe 10 times. My favorite Springsteen song is Rosalita but he hardly ever plays it, I've only heard him do it once. If he let fans vote for a setlist, I'd choose Rosalita over, say, Born To Run, which he plays a lot more often.drunkpirate66 wrote:The negativity around never fails to amaze me. You all need some clarity as to what is important.
That being said, I actually agree with you and the consensus of BN. I wouldn't choose any of the Yellow Album songs either. The only difference is that I would focus more on the "Jimmy Buffett is playing in Key West and that is really cool" part of this instead of the "why are people choosing CIP" part if this.

Ha, ya Pam it was awesome! I still chuckle remembering Jim walking in from work and saying, we are going to St Barth to see Jimmy play. The look on his face was priceless. The most expensive free concert ever for us. Worth every overpriced Euro too. lolScarletB wrote:St Barts Jon, though the Box would be VERY cool. Agree. Well, if we win the grand prize, we'll go, otherwise it's just a small venue concert with the hits. Been there, done that and loved it. Don't get me wrong, but we will leave the tickets on the table for someone else.
That was mine.
Jon, Nantucket sounds like the place to be. Just saw a House Hunters and now it's on our bucket list to visit. Pam, I know you love Nantucket. I like the fact you bike around!!

It was my first look baby that's all it took

I like to think I am an exception to this. Though Jimmy played Live By The Bay the year I was born- I still love all of his old albums. It is why I am a phan. Some of those older albums are arguably some of he best american song writing!

Jon...I'm completely frustrated with the fans who don't get anything past CIP or 5 o'clock and WDWGDAS. Jimmy is so much more than that. Yes....they paid the bills and put him on the charts but he's got 648 songs in the BN database and I would give anything to hear a few from the past he rarely plays. I wrote on JD Spradlin's FB page and told them to listen to Steamer, Tides, Lone Palm or any other number of great songs for which he is not given enough credit. This is not Jimmy's fault. But certainly I want to take the opportunity the man has given us to hear some songs live that we may never hear again.....or ever. He's telling us to do it...... and unless he really does read BN......he won't know how the phamily feels......drunkpirate66 wrote:I wasn't specifically talking about you because your baseline is inherently negative so for me to consider you being negative, by normal societal standards, you would have to be like Eeyore on a bad day.
