Hey Everyone.
I came across some great Trop Rock singers lately by doing a search for “jimmy buffett” on iTunes. Songs with his name came up in the title. I bought some. Here is a list of the them with other singers that I have on my iPod.
Thom Shepherd – Country singer, his song “Always Saturday Night” is played on Margaritaville Radio. His CD Tropicalifragilisticexpialidocious is great and the first track “Parrot Head” is hilarious.
John Reno – Comedy and Trop Rock, two of his songs “Heartaches and Hangovers” and “Mayday” are played on Margaritaville Radio.
Donny Brewer – Trop Rock, CD is called Living Like Jimmy Buffett
Brent Burns – Trop Rock, has many CDs Livin' The Life (Jimmy Buffett Only Wrote About) and Margarita Smile are worth looking at.
Matt Hoggart – Trop Rock, Recorded a song “Dear Jimmy Buffett” and Jimmy wrote a song back.
Bill “Boz” Bosley – Trop Rock, “My Life Is A Jimmy Buffett Song” from Get Your Tiki On
Steve Tolliver – Trop Rock, Many CDs “Jimmy Buffett Fan” is on Ode To The Sun
Leo Dean – Trop Rock, “If Jimmy Buffett Ran The World” on I Got It Made!
Gunther Martin -- Trop Rock, 2 CDs “Ballad of Jimmy Buffett” on Live A Little
Don Middlebrook – Many CDs “I Stole Jimmy Buffett’s TV Guide” on The Key West Connection
Andy Budd – Country, has a song called “Jimmy Buffett For President”. A great idea. I wonder if he has ever thought of it.
B2B – A Jimmy tribute band. Only one CD with a song called “Jimmy Buffett” done to the tune of “Wooly Bully”. Check it out. The meaning of the band’s name is cool. From there website:
What does “B2B” mean? Bars 2 Beaches? (the name of our first CD), Business to Business? (are you kidding?) Back to Basics? (no way), Boys Too Bad? (well, maybe). Actually we’re paying a “secondary” tribute to the highway that leads you to the Conch Republic. Jimmy’s memorable album “A1A” does it best. But we try hard to follow in his sandy footprints.
I’ll finish with a couple fellow Canadians:
Brian Neale – Trop Rock, 2 CDs Livin’ The Life is the better one. Not on iTunes. But go to northernharbour.com and follow the links.
Aaron C. Lewis – From Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He is a country singer. Has released a single called “Get Your Jimmy Buffett On”.
Hope you like the list and have some suggestions for me.
