We used to have shelves in the family room that were covered with various sizes of rooster "statues" --- metal ones, ceramic ones. Those have since flown the coop. (actually, they migrated to the basement where they're now gathering dust)bodypainter wrote:Wow,Bits! That's a coup load of chicken platters.A friend decorated her kitchen in rooster motif. Some designs bordered on ugly/weird/Tiki style birds,so I made her an incredibly distorted wall hanger as a joke. She loved it.

However, my wife DOES have about 10 gazillion dollars worth of Pfaltzgraff. Because you really do need separate sets of dishes for each season, holiday, etc. Personally, I don't really care about the plate ..... I just care about what's on it.
We have solid white dishes for every day. I had a teacher in college that said before you pick out a pattern, think about a serving of BEETS on it. If your dishes didn't look good with beets, it wasn't a good pattern. LOL![]()
Not only do we rotate the dishes that are used for meals, we also rotate the ones on the display shelves. (and by "we", I don't mean "me")
Plus, there's a separate shelf high on the wall along one side on the kitchen with an ever changing array of dishes. Apparently right now it's chicken season.

I'll eat potatoes if they're offered. But I don't eat them at home. The white sweet potatoes on the other hand? Yum. And seafood? Mmmm.

Pfffffffffffffffffffftttttttttttttttttttttt
You haven't had a burger until you drag it through the garden (salad) and add bacon, egg, sliced pineapple and pickled beetroot.

But too many got confused - including me.
Above all that, it ANZAC Day here today.
