Good morning. When I got to the ballpark last night at about 6:30, it was 100 degrees. After a lot thunder and lightning and 2 rain delays, it was down to 75 degrees when I got home just before 10:00. Two of the last 3 games I went to were suspended because of thunderstorms.

The Pelicans have a pitcher named Brad Markey, the game I went to Tuesday night was the first game he's pitched for them this year. He pitched a really good game, 1 run and 4 hits over 6 innings with a no decision, the game was tied 1-1 when they took him out. At last night's game I saw a group of about a dozen people wearing Pelicans shirts with Markey's name and number on the back. When I was going back to my seat after the first rain delay, 2 of them were walking in front of me. I asked if they were related to him, one of them was his mother. He wears #13, my number all but 2 of the years I played softball. I might have to bid on his jersey at the ugly Christmas sweater jersey auction in 2 weeks.

Good morning, BN. :)

Larry, I love your baseball recaps.
That breakfast looks great.

Not much here. Was going to a German festival, but we just looked at yesterday's pictures of the parking lot, and might just go to a couple of new breweries instead. :)

Have a great Sunday! :)

Even though last night's Pelicans game was suspended because of another thunderstorm, I couldn't leave the ballpark empty handed. They raffled off autographed baseballs, at least they called it a raffle. You didn't buy raffle tickets and hope you had a winning number. They had a table with about 40 unmarked boxes. You paid $20, picked a box and were stuck with whoever you got. The baseballs were all autographed by current or former major leaguers. They had a list of 5 or 6 names "among others" that were included. The box I picked was Marlon Anderson, who retired in 2009. He spent most of his 12 year major league career with the Phillies and Mets but also played for the Dodgers, Cardinals, Rays and Nationals.

Hey Lime
Not much, too hot to go anywhere, so I was listening to drag racing on NHRA.com but how watching the races live on espn2.
So far, so good for our favorite teams/drivers.

What's going on with you?

Back in MA after a week up north. Mr. Lime is catching up on yard chores and I've been setting up some work documents for the upcoming week.

The Pelicans were winning 1-0 when the thunderstorm hit last night. They continued the game tonight and won 9-0. I've been to 2 games that were called because of rain and continued the next day. I didn't go to the continued game either time and they won both of them. Maybe that's the trick, go to a game in bad weather and wait for them to finish the game the next day.

Nice that you won a Mets guy's ball in the raffle, Larry. Were you a fan of the player?

Bill, you really are a treasure for that community. It seems like you are involved four seasons, whatever is going on. :D

Not really. I remember him playing for the Mets but he was mostly a utility player, a little 1st base, a little 2nd base, some outfield. I looked up his stats when I got home last night, in 4 years with the Mets he only played 257 games and 123 of them were his first year with them.
