Name = Mike McLain "Ol' Tropo Trav"

Here's the info on the room blocks held for Memorial Day weekends events, The return of "It's Midnight" at Tommy Rockers and the Buffett shows at the MGM Grand.
Please pass them on to your members.

To all my phriends -
OlÕ Tropo Trav checked out several of the ÒStripÓ hotels like the Mandalay, Tropicana and the MGM Grand and found the rates
to be from about $ 180.00 to $ 360.00 per nite for a ÒstandardÓ room. Yikes!! Pretty pricey even for a Holiday weekend.
HereÕs 2 options that are really good. Both can be booked direct or thru Tropo Travel
Tropotrav@earthlink.net or call Mike ? 805-526-1911 for reservations.

The Key Largo Hotel & Casino (our old phriend) is offering some very Parrot Head phriendly rates.
Large rooms, free parking, airport shuttle and tons of those ÒPhun BooksÓ with free plays and drinks.

Thursday May 23 $ 39.00 per night
Friday & Saturday May 24 & 25 $ 59.00 per nite (2 nite minimum for these days)
Sunday May 26 $ 49.00 per nite
Monday May 27 $ 39.00 per nite
Call 702-733-7777 and ask for the Tropo Travel ÒParrot HeadÓ special or call Tropo Travel for reservations 805-526-1911

Wanna stay right across the street from the MGM and avoid the transportation hassle to and from the concert?
The Hotel San Remo is directly across the street on Tropicana from the MGM. A short walk to the show. Free parking and great
rooms.

Thursday May 23 $ 79.00 per night
Friday & Saturday May 24 & 25 $ 109.00 per nite (2 nite minimum for these days)
Sunday May 26 $ 55.00 per nite
Monday May 27 $ 55.00 per nite
Call 800-522-7366 x 6020 and ask for the Tropo Travel ÒParrot HeadÓ special or call Tropo Travel for reservations 805-526-1911

These rooms and rates are very limited. Call now!!

HereÕs the perfect Memorial Day Weekend.
Arrive early and check in at the Key Largo or San Remo, Friday and hit the pool with a couple of ÒBoat DrinksÓ.
Friday nite head over to Tommy Rockers for ÒIts MidnightÓ and hang with Tommy and ÒConched OutÓ and rock da jointÉ
Saturday hit the pool again and then head over to the MGMÕs pre show ÒMargaritaville PartyÓ. Conga the nite away with
Jimmy and the ÒReefersÓ. Indulge in a little post show gaming after.
Sunday ? REPEAT!!!
Monday ? hangover therapyÉ
Even better, start your Memorial Day Weekend on Thursday and drive home Tuesday. Avoid the traffic hassles on I -15.
A quick check with Southwest Airlines indicated an average round trip from the So. Cal. Area of about
$ 180.00 per person. Pretty typical for a ÒHolidayÓ weekend.

Hello all! I found great rates through Americawestvacations.com. Three nights at MGM only cost me $271. That's not bad!!! See you all in Vegas.

Found rooms at Treasure Island for only $114.00 per night on the FunJet web page. Not bad for a nice hotel.

OK, So I accidently let the great deal at MGM go before I was able to buy it. So now I am staying at Treasure Island. Who else is staying there??? Anyone up for a party?

The Key Largo, although not a strip quality place to stay, is quite the Parrot Head Hotel.

Parrot Heads will take over this hotel for the weekend as we have done before. There is a party from 4-8 at the Hotel. Left Coast, one great Jimmy Buffett cover band from San Diego, will be playing Buffett tunes and then the party heads on over to Tommy Rockers. If you can make sure you get to Tommy Rockers. This is one great place for a Parrot Head phlocking..!

For the price the Key Largo is is a great value...just not an MGM or Mandalay Bay..

We went to Key Largo when Jimmy was there in 00'. It was a great time, a small casino/bar area with a guy playing guitar and singing Buffett. The place was full of Parrot heads playing the slots, dancing and having a ball. I would definitely go back if i was going to the show this year.

Sorry for the misinformation. Hey, have you ever heard of the "Jeep Jamboree" that runs from Tahoe down the mountain and ends up in Placerville (I think). They use to run it in the '70s and it was a h*** of a party. The run uses riverbeds and thru forests with at least one night camping out...

Havn't been around for a few days. I had friends long ago that did the Jeep Jamboree, I thought this was a long standing run done annually around July starting west of Tahoe. I've got a 32 foot sailboat and that's all the trouble I need...
