Respectfully offered, this is fun reading, but I know plenty of people who've followed those rules and not made it. It's easy to offer advice when you're rolling in dough. Jimmy kept on keeping on and made it. But when you're hungry enough you'll give up and move on to something else, unless you don't have anyone else to answer to. Mortgaging the farm to go into business ain't fun. Unfortunately that's the way most people have to do it. They can't go on the road playing music hoping for the best. Go to Nashville. There is absolutely unbelievable talent playing all over the area. And they're doing everything Jimmy says, but it takes more. This advice kinda ranks up there with Steve Martin's advice on how to be a millionaire, "First, get a million dollars." Works every time. However, if you follow these rules with regard to everyday life, and not necessarily trying to make it in business...well, that's a different story. But these were financial lessons. The next time I sit down and have a beer with Jimmy I'm gonna talk to him about this.
Every day you wake up you get another chance to do it right.
