Good morning Linda... it's a very quiet day in the MSC.
It looks like it's gonna be a rainy day here in the upper LH corner but I'm not complaining, we've had pretty nice weather the last couple of weeks....
I know the voices in my head aren't real, but sometimes they have really good ideas....

Good morning. It's sunny and 77 degrees right now but the forecast is still 90% chance of rain. Earlier in the week they were saying we would probably get less than 1/2 inch of rain over the weekend, now they're saying as much as 2 inches today and 1/2-1 inch tomorrow. There's another flood watch, just what we need.

The Downtown Myrtle Beach Octoberfest is this weekend. I just got home from trying to go, it started pouring while I was driving there so I never got out of the car.
The Rainbow Lorikeets were peacefully feeding (well, peacefully as they can) when a pair of Indian Mynor's attacked them. The lorikeets will not give up food or territory easily.
Then a squadron of 6 or 8 Noisy Mynors joined the fray.
The Noisy's were swooping, diving and screaming their little lungs out. The lorikeets were screeching at over 100 db and really taking pieces out of the Mynors. The Indian's put up a brave fight.
In the end I turned the hose on the lot of 'em, and yelled out "Get off my lawn".
The feeder is now in the shed for a day or two - it is Spring, they don't need the extra food...

Hey Rabbitz!
You have lorikeets in the wild in your backyard? How cool is that and very colorful!!!
Yeah we've got about 6 or 8 different pairs that visit regularly.
They get quite pushy, they will fly in under the roof of the patio and bash on the kitchen window if we don't have feed out (we stop feeding for a week or two when this behaviour starts).
One pair had a juvenile with them for a couple of weeks this year.
While they are pretty they are also very raucous and very loud. However it is worth it. We also get King Parrots, Eastern Rosella's and Crimson Rosella's visiting occasionally.

When we visited Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne we were amazed at all the birds for sale... Cockatoos, Galahs, Parakeets, Rosellas..... all kinds of cool birds that are considered "Exotic" and can be quite expensive up here are very common down under....
