How do I convert DVD Audio Files to .mp3?

I have some concert DVDs that I would like to rip and convert the audio to .mp3 format that I can play on iTunes. I am kind of a technology dummy. How do I do this? I'd like to be able to do it at a higher bit rate so it sounds good, and be able to "track" it out into songs/tracks. I assume that the sound quality would be as good as that on the DVD?

HELP!

Thanks.

While I have not tested this process, using the free VLC media player is probably your best option. Here is a link with the steps to rip DVD audio to MP3:

How to Rip DVD Audio to MP3 Using VLC Media Player

You can download VLC player for Windows, Mac, and Linux here: VideoLAN

Thanks SunLover! I've downloaded it and have attempted to use it, but I need to mess with it some more. So far, I have been able to rip one giant .mp3 (entire concert) into one file, however it doesn't seem to "track it out." Also, it is very jumbled and impossible to listen to. I need to probably learn more about the settings.

Thanks!

I finally figure out how to do this!

I found this simple program called "DVD Audio Extractor" that is easy for even the technologically challenged, like myself, to use. It has a free download and a 30 day free trial. Works like a charm!

Just to update on what has worked for me, I could not get VLC to work and I don't recommend it for tech illiterates like myself. The problems that I encountered with VLC were primarily VLC's inability to convert "chapters" into "tracks", and telling it where to stop. For instance, a concert may start on Title 2, but there may be many more titles on the DVD that have menu loops or bonus footage afterwards that you don't want as audio files. VLC can be told where to start, but not where to stop. So if there is a loop in the next title, it becomes infinite and makes the program crash.

So that sucks.

Instead I found a program called DVD Audio Extractor.http://www.dvdae.com. It is free for a month. It works like a charm! It allows you to pick the titles and chapters you want, and you can title them how you like. I found that extracting the audio to wave files first is best, because there is no loss. Then load them into iTunes (or whatever you use) and convert to MP3. I highly recommend this for those of us that don't code and want an easy and simple process.
