Good morning.

I was all set to complain about the speed bumps that were installed in the parking lot at my condo last week, then I scrolled through my news feed on FB before I came here. One of my FB friends is an old law school classmate, and a fellow long suffering Mets fan. He and his wife, also a former law school classmate, still live on Long Island. I've known both of them since we started law school back in 1991. Wednesday morning they had a house fire. They and their 3 kids got out without any physical injuries but the house burned to the ground and they lost everything. And my biggest problem is that I ate too much yesterday.

In the continuing series of Sunny Weeks and Wet Weekends, it is Saturday morning and, can someone take a wild stab at what the weather here in Sydney might be?

Go on, have a guess...

Turkey Day is over but Turkey Day food still lingers....yummmmmmm

It's about 65 here today and that's just crazy. I guess it's how folks down south and out west feel when they put up their Christmas decorations but as I wrapped the lighted garland around the post in our front yard while wearing a t-shirt & flip flops I felt just plain silly! :P

I do refuse to turn on the lights or put up the tree & indoor decorations until December 1. I like to give Thanksgiving its monies' worth.

Dead right BP!

We've had so many wet weekends, that the lawns have turned in jungles. I swear I heard the traditional drums of a Pygmy Tribe coming from the grass near the back fence...

Hey Salt,

umm Christmas is supposed to be about shorts, t-shirts, thongs (what we call "flip flops"), 100°F days and barbeques.

Nothing like roast turkey or goose with all the roast and baked trimmings, served in the back garden on a scorching 100° day!!!!

We even had to re-write Jingle Bells...

Aussie Jingle Bells - Bucko & Champs

Dashing through the bush, in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust, esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

Engine's getting hot; we dodge the kangaroos,
The swaggie climbs aboard, he is welcome too.
All the family's there, sitting by the pool,
Christmas Day the Aussie way, by the barbecue.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

Come the afternoon, Grandpa has a doze,
The kids and Uncle Bruce, are swimming in their clothes.
The time comes 'round to go, we take the family snap,
Pack the car and all shoot through, before the washing up.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rus----ty Hol----den Uuuuuuute.

(Don't hesitate to ask if you need a translation :) )

Made turkey tetrazzini to feed the keet and his pals tonight and turkey chili to feed Mr. Lime. Myself, I am over turkey until next Thanksgiving.

Upper 70's here on the Gulf Coast today, thought about putting up outside Christmas lights but I'll wait 'til it cools off a little, 60's next week so maybe I'll get them up then.
