Snowy & Stormy Saturday @ the MSC

Post by nycfeat »

Well, for some of us it is.

Morning, BN. Had to wake up early enough to make sure work was closed. Now it's back to bed.

Stay safe and warm. And have a good one!

Morning sang & BN!!

HUGE high 5 to my VDOT salt, sand & plow truck drivers!
The roads were snow covered but I had no issues in the 4x4. Although we're only about 1/2 way through the storm & the winds are supposed to kick up to blizzard force today.

Happy snowy Sat east coasters

Yup it's a blizzard. And you know me -- I am baking cookies right now. Next I will make meatloaf. Cooking while I can before we lose power.
I'm just tryin to get by, being quiet and shy, in a world full of pushin and shove

Good morning. We have 13 inches already and they are calling for maybe 2 feet. Churches are already announcing closings
for Sunday. Just heard there is a big crash on the PA turnpike near Somerset that has had cars stopped since 830 last night.
I'm sitting here deciding on rum, whiskey, or some homemade vanilla liquor in my coffee. :pirate:
Who's got the rum?

When I woke up this morning it was 34 degrees. It's down to 30 and the wind chill is 19. At least we didn't get any snow. Last night on the 11:00 news, the weather guesser said there was a chance of a flurry early this morning. Or as he said "literally one or 2 snowflakes." Maybe I'll go to the beach after I finish my coffee.

We had a couple of days last year when the temperature was in the teens and the wind chill was single digits. I went to the beach on one of those days and I was the only person there, it was beautiful.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Good morning BN.No new snow here, which suits me just fine.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

A few flurries reported in the area overnight, but sunny and cold today. TV is showing thousands of cars stranded and people stuck at airports. This storm has been forecast for a week, have they not been paying attention?

Oh dear oh my......we've got about 18" so far with a total of 26-34 being forecasted.

Looks like we already have a winner of the Chambers #5 snow pool
$1 -- whomever guesses the closest amount (without going over) of snow recorded in center city by our local weather guesser will win the pot.
entries:
11"
11.25"
12-1/2"
13"
20"

We had to cancel our chili cookoff for tonight but it seems as though all of the contestants are still cooking and we will have a virtual vote.

Afternoon BN. I haven't paid attention to the weather since I don't have to be at work. But I just heard that there will be a travel ban at 2:30. Highways closed, no train service, no elevated subway service.
