Good morning gang and enjoy your day wherever you are.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Aloha! #1 son's 30th birthday today! Like Linda, I am also on my way to crazy criminal ville, but it is called middle school. One more day of trying to keep them from jumping out the window, then it's off for the summer! [smilie=giggle.gif]
I'm just tryin to get by, being quiet and shy, in a world full of pushin and shove

Good morning. The forecast for today and tomorrow is 95 with a heat index in the low 100s. I think going downstairs to get my mail might be the only time I go outside.

Good afternoon all. Just got a back x-ray. Got up off the couch Monday and back hurt like hell and pain shot down
my legs and arms. Finally went to the doctor yesterday. Among other things he gave me an rx for some oxy's. Didn't
know you shouldn't wash those down with beer. Wow! Good thing I didn't have to drive anywhere until today. Won't
do that again. :pirate:

Holy Cow John.....you can come and have a pill-popping party with Kevin. But, it took 3 weeks for him to get permission for an MRI & X-rays.

Afternoon BNers 8)

I have been trying to track family for months. Once I started with my family, I got involved in Larry's family too. OMG
You remember when some comedian used to talk about his family tree didn't branch?.....I'm afraid that is our tree. [smilie=asa.gif]
2 sisters marrying 2 brothers from the next farm.
After one Aunt's husband married, she married his brother.
Makes following the kids more difficult.
But, slowly I am making some progress and this is all without joining Ancestry.com.

I plan on trying the free trial to see how much more I can find. I have been going to the library because I can get into more of the family info. But I am to the point where I am hitting walls and dark alleys. lol
Who knew there were a zillion people named Susan Mullins (or any name) with about the same birth date. And it seems like keeping track of birth years wasn't important in the 1800's? About 18?? really isn't helping.

Hi Salt

It really is interesting. I"m back to 4th, 5th, 6th great grandparents---I think. I am still going down dark alleys that aren't the right branch of OUR tree.

I found some landgrants signed by Van Buren, etc. Pretty exciting. And 'maybe' a creed that gave a relative's slaves to his son. I'm still working on that one!

I'm having fun finding family and finding some interesting stories.

I never tried to do my family tree, but I did the ancestry.com DNA test earlier in the year. Some of the results surprised me. My father's family is Portuguese and it came back 25% Iberian peninsula so I guess there might be some Spanish in there too. My mother's family is Irish and there was 24% from Ireland, but another 16% from Great Britain. Maybe we had royalty in the family way back when. The surprising parts were 15% Italy/Greece, 5% Middle Eastern, 4% Scandinavian and 3% western Europe. We also have 2% northern Africa, which doesn't surprise me since Portugal is so close to northern Africa. But there were also trace amounts, 1% or less, from Finland/northwest Russia, the Caucasus, Senegal, southeastern African Bantu, Nigeria, Benin and Togo. Apparently I had some ancestors who got around.
