Re: Jimmy on NBC's Today Show Summer Concert
I miss the old days of the Friday morning concerts when you could get there at 8:30 and still be close to the stage. The first week I worked in 30 Rock, Prince was the musical guest on the Today Show. It's the only time I ever saw him live and there were only a couple of hundred people there. Back then the show was only on for 2 hours and ended at 9:00. Most of the musical guests would stay after the show ended and keep playing. One year Buffett played 3 songs on the show, then 3 more for the live audience after 9:00. Chrissie Hynde & The Pretenders played until 9:30. After the last song, Chrissie looked out at the crowd and said "Don't any of you people have jobs?"
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

I won a fan pass and would love to go. Unfortunately, I live in Detroit and believe a last minute trip to NYC would be extremely expensive. Any suggestions from NYC people?

Got my NBC pass. Looks like we will be catching a 3:30 train in-been awhile since I got up that early
I want to go back to the island,
Where the shrimp boats tie up to the pilin'.
Give me oysters and beer for dinner ev'ry day of the year

Does Jimmy use a teleprompter for all his songs now? Looks like it.....

It did look like Jimmy had to check the lyrics for Summerzcool, but not the rest of the songs. But I could not see a visible teleprompter.
He is looking great!![battingeyes [smilie=battingeyes.gif]](./images/smilies/battingeyes.gif)
