Well that's awesome! Good for the west coasters.
Wonder if he'll add another Vegas show, or somewhere else to close out the tour.

Phew! Got in after 60 minutes. 6 tickets all together terrace level. That was exhausting!

Re: Irvine Ca
I pulled Section 5 seats, middle row for Irvine, looking forward to it. Last year my trip to California included a Buffett show at the Hollywood Bowl, this year Irvine, excellent timing for me
BTW, Hello from Lexington, KY Just joined the board. I usually catch the Cincy show every year and try to make a California show when possible.

Re: Irvine Ca
Any chance they'll open the parking lot earlier than 4pm this year?

Re: Irvine Ca
OMG....really, the 4:00 opening is not just an idle threat to keep the unknowing away?
That's hardly enough time to get the grill warmed up. What happens to all the cars trying to get in at noon? In past years have they actually held off until 4:00? First time for us in Irvine, been to many concerts in other cities, showing up at noon means you are usually late for the party... what does everybody do till 4:00 pm??
Re: Irvine Ca
just as a heads up, even without a parking lot party, the lot at Irvine has been nothing but a CF the past year. more than one set of friends who went to Dead and Co this summer missed half the show due to parking lot BS and could not get into the venue until set break.
no joke, parking lot at Irvine is now a serious nightmare....

Re: Irvine Ca
Thanks. Is there a good place to park away from there and just walk in? I have never been to this venue.rich_big wrote:just as a heads up, even without a parking lot party, the lot at Irvine has been nothing but a CF the past year. more than one set of friends who went to Dead and Co this summer missed half the show due to parking lot BS and could not get into the venue until set break.

Re: Irvine Ca
If there isn't an alternative to parking available, what is a safe time to arrive, I wasn't planning to tailgate or anything there. If i arrive around 6 would I be able to get parked and make it inside for the show?

Re: Irvine Ca
Regularly I would say yes. I haven't been there in 4 years so I have no idea what's happened recently. In the past the parking has not been a problem.

My daughters went to a concert at Irvine tonight. They said parking was not a problem at all.

Re: Irvine Ca
For the last three decades, Irvine has had a love/hate relationship with Parrot Heads. One year, the riot police stormed the parking lot and did their best to "stop" the tail gate party. Not surprisingly, Buffett avoided playing Irvine for a few years. Last year, the parking lot did open until 4:00 pm. As you can imagine, it took forever to enter the parking lot. The options are to get in line early to park or sit in the traffic jam.
