Kenny Chesney Detroit concert newbie questions

Hello friends, on August 13 this European Buffettfan is attending a KC concert at Ford Field in Detroit.

This will be our first concert in the States and I am a bit puzzled about the concert times. The ticket says 5pm but other sites say 7 or 7.30pm
Is it the case that the pre-shows start at5pm and KC at 7 or 7.30pm ?
What time would you recommend getting there, are there any restaurants near the stadium to get some pre-show food ?

Thanks for your help. We have seen Jimmy several times in Paris and always hoped to see him live in the USA but for now we are happy this KC concert coincided with our upcoming vacation :)

From looking at the event site here http://www.detroitlions.com/ford-field/ ... -2016.html it indicates doors open at 3:30 and the first band will start at 5:00 pm. Depending on the order of the acts, Kenny could start playing as late as 7:30 or 8 with the opening bands all before him with small intermissions between them.

Hope that helps.

If you don't mind walking about, there is a Greektown district with plenty of Restaurants. You can use this link through Olympia Entertainment to help you as they operate Comerica Park baseball stadium right next to Ford Field.

Have personally ate at Hockeytown Café, Detroit Beer Company, Bucharest Grill, Cheli's, Bookies. All with decent food & all but Bucharest have great beer!! 8)

Thanks again ! The hockeytown bar is actually close to where I found parking so we will give that a try.

It has an outdoor patio as well as multi levels to the restaurant. Be warned....it will be very busy.
