I always try to get our house outside Christmas lights out before TG (although I REFUSE to turn them on until Dec 1) so that I'm not out there in blustery winds/rains/snow, etc.

Good afternoon. It's supposed to get cooler next week so I decided to make a pot of chili. I didn't have an onion, and I needed a couple of other non-chili related things, so I made another trip to the supermarket. There was someone behind the counter at the Beer Den but they didn't have any Vamplifier Red Ale. He said it sold out in 2 days and I never go to try it.
I did have a really good IPA called Damn Yankee.

IPA?
*SHUDDER*
If an IPA is brewed to style is should be awful. It was meant to be awful.
IPA stands for India Pale Ale. It was a traditional ale that was brewed to be a bit of a lightweight (in character) as it was destined for the hot a sticky climes of India, brewed for the Army and Navy posted there. It also had to survive the rigours of being brewed in England, stuffed into a wooden barrel, stuck into the heaving, putrid hold of an Indiaman for months while heading out to India.
It was then served without refrigeration.
It never had the chance to be a good thing...
However it is now very trendy, which makes me believe the modern IPA is nothing like its roots...

Ahoy! Ihad a great day! I caught fish, and then caught a nap before trailering our holiday lights to the park. The high school football was to help Saturday, but they are in the play offs, so we started today. Surprise! The team came! We have most everything placed for tomorrow. Yay!
I enjoyed the IPA origin, Rabz. Kinda wish I had some.
