Anyone know if the park & ride is patrolled/inspected by law enforcement at night?
I've been living full time in my van the past eleven months and am thinking about arriving earlier then ever....... like 12:01 am!
Will the sheriff bust me if I stay self contained/lights off?

I'm still in FL and have a triple deadline to be back in town for.

1) My 64th birthday is 7-11.
2) My license plate tabs expire 7-11.
3) Jimmy plays Pine Knob AKA DTE 7-11.

So Dr Corona's advice to be at the Park & Ride early to wait for the "official" parking lot opening is still the best way to go. Got it. This is my first Buffett concert and tailgating experience so I don't wanna miss a thing! Thanks, everyone, for your info!

The way it's been explained to me is that Palace Entertainment sets the opening time.
But as the strip malls and road shoulders start getting crowded with anxious Parrotheads the Oakland County Sheriff forces them to open the gates and promises that they will not be allowed to present the show again if they don't comply.
So nobody knows what time, last year at 11:00 was the earliest I had ever seen.
If that's true, there IS a way to insure an early start...... everybody show up early and clog up the lots and get the sheriff's deputies to act!

Everyone is a VIP at Pink Knob....AKA Dte..
But seriously....don't limit yourself or have any preconceived notions about any of the particular harbors in the lot. Whether you setup in VIP or not You'll have plenty of time to go walkabout and check out all the cool setups and people.

Forecast is now only 20% chance of rain.
Yesterday the weather at Riverbend was perfect for Jimmy's 50th Cincinatti show.
Scalpers wanted $125-$150 for lawns!
I waited it out, and after the concert started got a hard lawn ticket from a scalper for $50.
I was at my van, and he asked if I had a water for him, so I gave him an ice cold bottle.
Got a good look at him, and having practiced dentistry for 40 years I'd recognize him by his smile anywhere.
Gate guy got angry with me for trying to get in with a ticket that had already been used for entry, and didn't believe me for a second that I paid a guy $50 for it.
I'll never again buy one after they've let people in, way too easy a scam.
I should have bought one from Ticketmaster the day before for a bit more than $200 including fees for the cheapest they had available.
At least I would have gotten in.
Plenty of people were still partying in the tailgating lot, so I had fun just the same.
There were still hundreds left this morning when I woke up there.
No sign of Mr. terrible teeth, but I doubt he's putting the $50 into dental work.
So happy I got my electronic ticket the day before yesterday from Ticketmaster for Tuesday.

Let's hope the forecast stays! Just putting the finishing touches on the flip flop shot. And working on all the other finishing touches and possibly fixing up the tiki bar. It's needed it for seasons, but every year has been "Jimmy's last year" so we've let it go, LOL....

We may have 2 lawn up for grabs if anyone is looking. Just come find the sharkgirls hopefully near the front. But we're up next now! Wishing I was in Chicago to try and cross his path over the next few days!

Been a long time since I have been on here.
Can't wait to head back to the Knob where I first saw Jimmy and was bit by the PH bug a mere 11 years ago.
Meeting up with the first PH I ever met and looking forward to making more memories from where it all started for me.
