States Jimmy Hasn't Played

Post by commodore jim »

So while lamenting the fact that Atlanta is apparently AWOL from this year's concert schedule, I decided to peruse the set listing and started looking at all sorts of facts and stats. I know that's not a comprehensive listing of all of Jimmy's concerts, but as they are listed there, there are presumably seven states that he has never played in: DE, MT, ND, NH, SD, VT, WY. Now if it were me, I think before I decided to hang up my guitar it would be cool to do a show in each of those to say that I played in all 50 states. Seems like that might be something Jimmy would like too based on his travels and experiences. Wonder what the odds are, wonder if it's even dawned on him ...

Jimmy's certainly played Montana. Maybe not a big Coral Reefer Band amphitheater show, but that's even better.

Was ithe Missoula show the inspiration for "Miss You so badly'?
What if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

It makes sense that the 1976 Missoula show is the or part of the inspiration to Miss You So Badly.

I noticed Atlanta nor Nashville are the tour dates this year. Poor me has to go to Orange Beach this year instead. I am loving that cause we have a few days off to stay.

I have to say that i do love those Atlanta shows but the last 2 years have been in a huge arena which I didn't love all that much. They do have one hell of a tailgate though.

Interesting. The book Jimmy Buffett and Philosophy (from the Pop Culture and Philosophy series- overall it isn't that great of a book but it does make some decent points and since it's the only book on the topic there is, I bought it and read it) claims that both Vermont the state and Germany the country are both "not very Buffett-ish" places. And while I love both places and have visited both frequently, I would have to kind of agree. So somewhat surprised to learn he has played in Bennington VT, even if it was a long long time ago. He has mentioned Vermont in the lyrics to Fruitcakes several times at the Great Woods shows though.

Would love to see Jimmy play Meadowbrook in NH. Nice outdoor shed/pavillion. Smaller than Great Woods, like half probably, 9000 seats. Tons of nice places to stay around Lake Winnipesaukee. Something new.

Bring it, Jimmy! :wench

Wow you just brought me back 20-25 years. 10 packs of XLIIs from the record store for Phish tape trading in college. I still have a few hundred of them and spin them once in awhile.
