Hey everybody. Apparently today is National Mint Julep Day.

National Mint Julep Day is observed annually on May 30. Each year, people around the country gather for a glass of mint julep! This refreshing southern classic is a traditional drink of the Kentucky Derby.

A classic mint julep is made with a mint leaf, bourbon, sugar and water. In the Southern states, where mint julep is more associated with the cuisine, spearmint is the mint of choice. Preparation of the drink may vary from one bartender to another.

Good morning Linda. I have never had a mint julep, but there is still hope.

We got home yesterday from a whirlwind tour of some of the Eastern states. Flew to Dullas Airport. Followed Little Feat to 3 shows, drove a zillion miles in traffic, driving back to Dullas and finally getting back to IAH Houston yesterday. How do people in that area drive anywhere????? I now understand why mass transit is so popular

No bourbon for me today.
I'm hitting the hard stuff.

I try my best not to drive in northern Va...it sucks! I drove to GW 2 or 3 times & decided to fly for my trips up after that.

I like my water with lime. Got hooked on lime over lemon many years ago in KW

From Dullas, we drove to CT. Thought we were driving around Washington DC. Nope. Right down the middle of the city, but we saw the monuments again. Along with every car on the road. ugh

Ahoy! We had rain at dawn, but it cleared up, so I fished lake lined with big money homes. One place had 6 palm trees on the terrace, maybe 25 feet high! They were metal palms. A bar in Put in Bay has a dozen lining the street. Coming in to the ramp I smelled the aroma of a campfire wafting on the breeze,Someone was living good.

I worked and lurked as usual but walked the dog around the hahbah a little while ago and that was lovely.

So it was a cloudy day here until about 3pm when the sun broke through the clouds just a little. Guess it was enough to give us 1 he!! of a rain shower...right about the time I went out to light the grill
