Re: Wacky WED @ the MSC
Good morning.
My seat at Pelicans games is behind home plate and with the screen they have to protect the fans, we don't get a lot of foul balls back there. Last night there was a high pop up behind the plate and it made it over the screen. The ball bounced in the section next to me and was headed right to me. A woman in the aisle seat across from me reached out and one handed it just as I was about to get it. Oh well, I guess I'll have to be content with the one I got last year, the only foul ball I've ever gotten.

Good morning Linda, Deb, Larry.
Larry - I'd love to have a foul ball, but I always duck when they're coming close to me.
Happy Flag Day!!!

Re: Wacky WED @ the MSC
Penny, the ball I got last year was pretty easy. There had been a rain delay and then the game went into extra innings. By the 11th inning a lot of people had already left and I was the only person in my section. A ball landed a couple of rows behind me and I took a leisurely stroll to get it. The next game I went to I brought it with me and got the Pelicans pitcher who had started the game to sign it for me.

Sounds like the gal at least made a nice play on the ball....not body checking you out of the way or a stumbling bumbling off balance play wherein neither of you got it.
Hope Craft Beer Night went Well!!

My seat is also on the aisle and there's a railing between the 2 sections. We were both standing in the aisle when the ball bounced and it was probably a foot away from me when she snagged it. I congratulated her on the catch. There was a little kid with his grandfather in the 2 seats next to me, if I had gotten the ball I might have given it to the kid. Might have.Dr.Corona wrote: ↑June 14, 2017 10:00 amHappy Flag Day to All!LIPH wrote: ↑June 14, 2017 8:42 am Good morning.

The Carolina Ale House makes a good cheeseburger. It's not River City Cafe good, but it's good. Friendly staff and nice beer selection too. It gets the HOG stamp of approval, I might have to add this place to my regular lunch rotation.

Re: Wacky WED @ the MSC
They announced this place was coming to Myrtle Beach back in 2014 when Planet Hollywood closed. The building was demolished and there was an empty lot in its place for more than 2 years. They finally started construction back in January or February and I've been waiting for it to open. I asked the bartender how long they've been open and she said since Monday. The bartender's name was Maria. Within about a minute or 2 after I sat down another woman came by, she must have been the shift manager, and asked "did Maria take your drink order?" They have 60 beers on tap and more in bottles, I needed time to make a decision.
I'll definitely be back.

Ahoy!
We heard about the VA incident at our breakfast diner from a retired congressman. He was friends with the victim.
