The show was really good, but this may be my last Jones Beach show. I can remember, and it wasn't all that long ago, getting there at 10:00 and not only being in the first lot right by the venue but being able to park right up front. We got there before 6:00 yesterday and while we made it into the first lot, we were all the way in the back. And a lot of us mentioned how it was a much younger crowd than we could remember at other shows and there seemed to be a large number of "party 'til you puke" types in attendance. The show wasn't a sellout but the lots were packed, there had to be a ton of people there just to party. Lots of amateurs too, who didn't know enough to pour their beers into cups. I'm not going to retype what I said about the lots and I don't know how to copy and paste on my phone, but I posted in the Jones Beach thread this morning. The lot was disgusting when we left to come back to the hotel last night.
I'm going to relax this morning, I was awake before 4:00am yesterday, then I might go to Hooters in Farmindale to sample the local cuisine.
There's a craft brewer in Oceanside, about 5 minutes from where I lived when I was in Lynbrook so I might go there later to sample some brews, their taproom opens at 4:00.

What you said is one of the main reasons why the Lots at GW are opening later , cuts into the tailgating and drinking time , even though some will start outside the gates. It's probably a good thing they check for tickets at GW to curb that a bit , the only thing that sucks is people like me , who usually purchase there , 1st trying to get a great seat , if that doesn't work , I'll get the next best.LIPH wrote: ↑August 16, 2017 8:10 am The show was really good, but this may be my last Jones Beach show. Free breakfast has been had at the hotel, I think I'm going to take a ride to my old neighborhood. Then I'm going to check out a couple of beer distributors and see if I can find some Blue Point Delayed Pilsner.

Checking in from home, relaxing with the second cup of coffee. Really need to mow but the heat index is already nearing 100. If I time it right I can mow after the clouds arrive but before the scheduled daily thunderstorm.

What I'm about to say will shock everyone, I didn't go to Hooters for lunch.
There's a place called The Green Turtle in East Meadow, it's in the same location as the Hooters that closed in 2012 just before I moved. Really good chicken sandwich, 36 beers on tap and a great bartender, she knew her stuff when she was talking about beer. When I got here I was the only one in the place, it's packed now. The bartender told me there are 2 other locations on Long Island but the franchise owner has the rights to open 10 of them. I wish we had one in Myrtle Beach.

I'm back home from my pre-concert, pre-girls beach weekend errands. Waiting for Bill the Bodypainter
. to appear.
And, man, is it HOT out there! It looks like we may get thunderstorms for the Camden show tomorrow/night.

Afternoon BN. One more work day until my 6 day weekend.
Hey Larry, sorry I missed you at JB @ JB again. But the parking situation was/is one of the reasons I haven't been back.

Sang, I decided after yesterday I won't be coming back to Jones Beach, it just isn't worth it anymore.
Barrier Brewing in Oceanside, $5 flights on Wednesday. So far the one beer I've had is pretty good. Four more to go.
