College Football 2017-18....

So happy that the first full schedule of College Football is coming up this weekend!
While it was fun watching ESPN classic & ESPNU the last couple weeks and reliving some of the great games of last season & yesteryear, (ok, sucked having to relive the O$U game from last year), time to see some new chapters written for this year.
Hoping the new starters here at
Michigan can make their mark this year.
Tough opener with the Gators this Saturday. Purchased tix this weekend for home opener vs. Cincinnati so fired up for that. Visit from the Air Force Academy on the schedule too. No slouches in the non conference schedule for sure.
Road contests at Penn State & Wisconsin this year (tough), rivalry game with
Moo U, other Big Ten battles with a few teams on the rise.......then the finale with that team from Down South......
Familiar names at the top of this seasons preseason poll but something tells me a team or two outside of the top ten will crash the party this year. What say you College Football Phans??

I went to a college that dropped football the year before I got there and there's no big time college football in the NY metropolitan area (sorry Rutgers fans) so I have no rooting interest in any particular school, I just watch because I'm a football fan. Having said that, I enter the Tilted Kilt online contest every year and 2 of yesterday's games were on the scoreboard for the first week. You have to pick by the point spread, not just who you think will win. I had Ohio St. over Indiana and Oklahoma St. over Tulsa so I'm 2-0.

Sad but true.

Rutgers never should have joined the Big 10, they'll be the Jests of college football.

Last year was horrific. Losing, in and of itself, isn't new. This is beyond just losing. It's decimation.

I know Rutgers is the state university of New Jersey so that should give them an in-state recruiting advantage. But with the exception of Northwestern and Purdue I think all the other schools in the Big 10 are state universities and most, if not all, of them have more football talent to choose from. Any top high school player from Ohio probably wants to play for Ohio State. Same with players from Pennsylvania going to Penn State. The University of Nebraska is probably the only big time football program in the state. Top recruits from New Jersey would probably want to go to top football schools rather than staying home to play for Rutgers. They just can't compete, I don't know what the administration was thinking when it decided to join the Big 10. Except all the money they're probably getting while their football players get pounded every week.

The program gets, or got, respect because quite a lot of them have actually gone on to the NFL. And the Schiano years they even made a C- or D- list Bowl game. But the football culture is entirely different than Big 10. I liked where we were. Louisville was always a good game. Cincinnati.

Welcome to Aggie football. It's not the first time we've done something like that.

I believe last year you had a big lead on UCLA before they rallied to push you to OT but in that one you prevailed!

Purdue is a state university. It is the Land Grant school in Indiana.
BTW, I'm also a Fightin' Texas Aggie, class of 1994. Losing that game to UCLA was maddening.

Fighting Irish are on a roll. Josh Adams should be considered for Heisman Trophy.
