http://bestclassicbands.com/eagles-tour ... -11-14-17/
After a warm reception to an Eagles reunion without the late Glenn Frey, a set of stadium dates is being planned for summer of 2018, pairing the best-selling band with party troubadour Jimmy Buffett.

“One word answer? Yes,” the band’s longtime manager, Irving Azoff, told Best Classic Bands. Coors Field in Denver will be one destination, Azoff said, with “an Eagles/Buffett celebration up in the mountains there. We’re just talking about a handful” of stadium dates featuring the two classic artists.

A formal tour announcement is expected in early December.
Color me unimpressed. I'm not a big stadium guy personally and if this means JB "opens" and only plays 10-15 songs then that's a big thumbs down, IMO.

Of course, this is all speculation at this point. But, hopefully, we still get a solo JB tour, even if it's just the "main" venues like Cincy, Frisco, GW, Alpine, etc.

I hate even the thought of this happening. I'm not an Eagles fan but no matter who Buffett is paired up with with him not as the lead act I wouldn't like. What would he do like 12-14 songs? He'd have to cater to the Eagles crowd so you're get the Yellow album along with 5 O'Clock, Knee Deep, BEG...
But if this going to happen unfortunately I see it as Fenway Park stop. I guess I'll know soon when the Red Sox send their season ticket holders the 2018 events.

I wonder if they would switch opening acts each show maybe? Like Buffett opens up for the Eagles one show and then the Eagles open up for Buffett the next show.
Jimmy please play VANCOUVER again. We miss you!

They will CO HEADLINE if this is true. You are kidding yourselves if you think Jimmy is going to OPEN for ANYONE. A lot has changed since they toured in the 70s.

Kenny Chesney also does this for stadium shows. Its a co-headline then at the end they come together and do an encore set together (Zac brown toured with him, tim mcgraw, jason aldean) all huge artists. Both artists, get a FULL TWO HOUR SET. I imagine this would be the same here.

I am a bit over stadium shows cause the acoustics usually bite but this could be a cool, different type of show.

I've been to my fair share of stadium shows but I'm not a fan, too big and usually crappy sound. Plus, I'd have to travel to wherever the shows might be and that means a hotel and either airfare or driving a few hours each way. My entertainment dollars will be better spent on something else.

As long as the show is at Alpine Valley and The Eagles open ala Huey Lewis and then step aside once we all decide to go in for the 27 song sing-along setlist then I'd be okay with it

Tommy is correct, the Eagles are not going to be an opening act. Even at best a co-headlining tour would still mean less of each performer. Buffett is not going to do a 2 hour set regardless so you'd get 12-14 songs. Right now it is listed as a handful of shows so lets hope that handful stays away from New England.

It will be cool headline and at stadiums both have played recently.

So look for Denver Chicago and possibly Detroit and Boston.

Why wouldn't they play full sets? As I mentioned above Kenny Chesney does it with other huge country artists every year for the last ten years.

2 hours each then a few songs together for the encore.

Too bad Tommy won't be able to make it. I know he is a huge Eagles fan but I think he has that golf tournament.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Last year was the final year for that Golf Tournament , I do like the Eagles . I saw them at The Yale Bowl years ago with Heart and The Little River Band.

Chesney's show is billed as a Country fest. All the bands don't do 2 hours. 45 minutes to an hour. Usually the band before Chesney may play longer. Start time is 5 for the 1st band , usually 4 acts. Chesney goes on around 9. I believe concerts have to be over at 11 in Foxboro. Unless your Springsteen , who ignores it.
