Good Morning Gang! Woke up extra early this morn so ventured into the office early.
Unfortunately no day off for birthdays of King, Washington or Lincoln.
Cranking out W-2 forms for the masses today. Even though electronic filing of tax returns doesn't begin until Jan. 29, doesn't keep client's employees from dogging them about "when will W-2's be out".

Hiya Folks!
Holiday for Kevin & I today. He's got nothing planned
![cheeky-grin [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]](./images/smilies/cheeky-grin.gif)
. I can always find things to do. Off to the gym, then dropping off some donations for a local church "rummage" sale. Then for my 1st ever manicure using the first of about $300 of gift cards received from Chambers 5 over the past 4 years.

When I was still working, we didn't get those days off either. I could never understand that, they're federal holidays and the courts are closed but a law firm was open.

Hi all!
Home from Cleveland and mostly unpacked. It is amazing how much stuff a mom and a kid with a sport can cram into a car for a weekend trip. Lucky that roads were good both on our trip out (glad we left Thursday night---Friday commuters said roads were treacherous. Took some over 6 hours to make the 3.5 hour journey.). The Ohio Turnpike was interesting yesterday--saw 3 jack knifed semis in the berm/shoulder and one truck/trailer combo. They just put orange barrels around them and I guess come back for them later. It was an eerie scene and a strong reminder of how dangerous ice and snow can be.
Sophie's team played "meh" on Saturday. Lost every game they played and the girls were all bummed. Sunday played better. I think spending some time at the bowling alley just being girls together helped. They won a game which lifted their spirits then played hard in the third game but lost. They felt better about their efforts, which was good. Soph dove for a ball and kept it in play but ended up hitting her chin on the floor. That resulted in us leaving early, a concussion, and 4 hours in ER once we got home to rule out a jaw fracture. Glad to say no fracture, just a really bad bruise and inflammation. She has a headache which would probably ground an elephant--guess that comes with a concussion and when you irritate the nerves in your TMJ area by your ear. I learned that area is like the epicenter for nerves. She is now Dracula because any light makes it worse. YaY...
As a school employee, I have the day off so I am catching up on laundry and might get out of jammies today. More snow is falling to cover our already ice covered roads here. I am so over this winter weather.....

I remember those days when my she-keets were little. It seems like every weekend there was a B-Ball tournament or a V-ball tournament or a track meet or a ballet recital or...... One of them actually asked why we didn't do anything on weekends.

Now they're all growed up and gone and I wonder where the time went! (And wish we had done even more on those precious weekends.)

Good morning BNers. We have a temporary reprieve from the bitter winter here, 50's today and tomorrow but another blast is on it's way tomorrow night and we might see winter precip. 60's by the weekend.

Ahoy! I gorged on pizza yesterday at noon to the point I had to stuff down breakfast today. Dreading paying the piper, I weighed myself after a good work out. Ta Da! I was down a pound plus from last week.
Sorry about your keet, Mel. I'm surprised we don't suffer more than we do trying to grow up.

You know when a company recruiter feels like you do. So many applications, I can't always remember them. Had one send me an email today asking if we can talk tomorrow, when I spoke with them last week. Hopefully that's a good sign

Wow! With all that crazy high surf, I'm not surprised to see a Wallaby hopping along the coathanger!
