I'm an anal retentive freak and I save all my ticket stubs. I went to my first Buffett show at Jones Beach in 1988 and I've been to all but 4 since then. I just went through my tickets from past shows, there have only been 3 on Saturdays - 1988, 2004 and 2006. I wouldn't hold my breath for a Saturday show this year. With Boston on Thursday I think if there's a Jones Beach show it's more likely to be on Tuesday than Saturday.

Honestly a late summer Thursday at Jones Beach is just as good as a Saturday.
How about the 16th AND the 18th???

I normally make the trip to Boston every year but I'm not going to Fenway Park.

It's not a convenient date but thinking of Cincinnati, its a GREAT tailgate

With the Jiffy Lube show on Aug. 4, there's no way I'm doing this. I'm driving up to Virginia so the only way I could make both shows is to drive up to Long Island, then to Virginia on my way back to SC. Since I always stop about halfway when I drive to NY, I'd be going SC-VA-LI-VA-SC. An extra day on the way up, probably an extra day or 2 on LI to see some friends from when I lived there. That trip would blow my travel budget sky high.

I booked two hotels from Wednesday - Friday one at the Best Western Bar Harbour Inn and one at the Freeport Inn, the former is $150 per night, the latter is $165 per night. Both are about the same distance to Jones Beach. I'm not 100% sure I can make this show, I have too see how my work calendar shapes up for the summer but if I can make I'll just pick one of the two hotels and cancel the other. Last time I saw Buffett at Jones Beach we stayed at the Best Western Bar Harbour Inn and it was fine. And we started tailgating at 8am the lots are also part of the beach parking so they open very early I believe.
