The last time I was at Jones Beach was 2011 , I'd leave my house in CT at around 6:30 ( 2 hour drive +/-). I'd have no problem getting a spot in lot 5. Crazy how times have changed. Also , that was a time when he sold out well in advance too. Looking at TM. There seems to be a awful lot of tickets available. 2 whole sections look like they weren't sold.

2016....I arrived at 715am and could not get in the main parking lot (4 or 5. Not sure, but I think its 5)

2017.....3am they stuck us in side lots until about 5am. By that time the line was a mile long

6:30 the main lot was closed? Wow ... the lone fo get in on the OP must have been crazy. I remember when it used to close at like 10:30

Last year I thought I'd give Field 5 a shot, so was in line at 6:30. No joy. I was in second section over in Field 4.

Think I'll just be there at 8:00 and live in Field 4. (Note: Field *4* was full before noon last year!)

That was one of the reason GW started to check for tickets when entering.

The Jones beach parking lot is no that big compared to other places we've been. I have a cooler with wheels so wherever we end parking we'll find our way to where we need to be. I have had to take some long walks through parking lots before to find people.

Not that it makes much of a difference, but parking there is for the beach as well as the venue. color]

That was the issue we had the last time I went to Jones beach (04) It was a Saturday show so it was much busier with beach goers and they had Buffett tailgaters parked next to families going to the beach. Very odd. And the cops were very overly strict about booze that day. I they even saw one hint of a bottle they took it or made you dump it or got in your face and yelled at you.

This thread is very quiet for being the week of!!

Ticket prices are dropping fast today on StubHub,seats that were listed close to $100 now below $60 plus so many available on Tm I wonder if they'll do a last min groupon.

I am waiting until tonight or even tomorrow to buy tickets. With the weather I suspect that lots of people will want to dump and there are hundreds of tickets still for sale.

BTW - I should know this but don't. What time does the opening act come on and what time does Jimmy take the stage?
