I'm looking to get my Buffett fix in Cleveland (since Alpine is leaving me high and dry again this year). I would appreciate information on the tailgating options/situation. What time do lots open ("official time" and "actual time based on prior years")? Is there a preferable lot? I'm used to the Alpine tailgating all-day experience, so if anyone can draw comparisons that would be helpful.
I would also appreciate lodging suggestions. I held out hope for Alpine for a long time, so I'm a bit late in planning for this.
Thanks in advance. Fins up!

In 2014, parking was announced as opening at 4:00(Tuesday show) but I do remember it opening slightly early(maybe 3:30-ish?). There’s free lots which are basically big grass fields and there’s Premier or VIP parking which are paved lots closer to the venue entrance. Both lots are fun, I will say it’s a bit of a walk from the free lots to the venue entrance so be prepared for that. They did allow canopies and grills in 2014.
With that being said, I’ve been to Alpine and I’ve been to Blossom and there’s no comparison between the two. Alpine is a much better tailgating experience.
Can always hope with this being a holiday weekend show this year they’ll announce the lots to open a little earlier.

It will be truly up to us to make the tailgating a great experience, despite the limitations. At this point in time, I have my parka packed, and snow boots. I am hoping they let my 55-gallon oil drum in to build a warming fire we can all stand around and rub our hands to....

I am much more optimistic for the weather in the Burg in July............what a crappy cold spring it has been, well below normal.
If it does not improve, I will throw snowballs at Amo, well, just because. Bill won't get to far using frozen paints and brushes, he might poke somebody's eye out with that thing.

To all guest readers. I paint for free. It's my gift to the party. Besides, nobody can criticize free work. I do accept dinks and money donations go to the backpack program that feeds poor kids. Look for the charter buses to find me.
