Ahoy! I made a posterboard flying flamingo to hang at the pool party next week. With the feet sticking straight out(on dowel rod legs) it"s six feet long!.....and pink.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

SPH, I saw an article, I think it was on ESPN.com, that a group in Seattle made a formal application to the NHL for an expansion team. Is hockey a big deal up there?

We just stuck with one, and visited with dear friends. It was great. But he's tired now.

It used to be... we only have Western Hockey League (Seattle Thunderbirds) now but the Seattle Metropolitans were the first American team to win the Stanley Cup back in 1917.

It used to be... we only have Western Hockey League (Seattle Thunderbirds) now, never had an NHL team but the Seattle Metropolitans were the first American team to win the Stanley Cup, back in 1917. They beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-1. They played the Canadiens again in the Stanley Cup finals in 1919 (which was cancelled due to the Spanish flu pandemic after five games, with the series tied 2-2-1) and in the finals again in 1920, when they lost to the Ottawa Senators.
Interesting, never noticed this before:
